I remember Austin Croshere getting a nice contract for his work in the Finals but bad defense from Horry and Ac Green is what made him look good or maybe he just had a lucky series to the tune of 15ppg on 54% shooting.

Jerome James is also another who got a good contract based off 2weeks worth of games.

Which players in Nba history had a similar situation wherein they never got close to the level of play expected of them.

Bismack biyombo is the easy answer from the last 5 years.

I remember him killing the Pacers that year and thought he would develop into a Ben Wallace type of player.

I wasn’t that high on him but definitely thought he be a solid nba starter.

Tim Thomas was skilled and had good upside but I think he got his contract off his play against the Pacers in that epic 5 game series in 2000 wherein he was hitting clutch baskets that pushed the Pacers to the brink if not for that Travis Best gamewinner.
