View Full Version : Herman Cain passes away at 74 from complications with COVID-19

I think he's the highest profile person who has passed away from COVID so far. I could be wrong.

Herman was a true American success story. Black entrepreneur who eventually ran for President. RIP good sir. :(

I think he got infected at a Trump rally too if I'm not mistaken. Few weeks ago he attended a rally where very few wore masks and zero social distancing, and the ironic thing is that they were pretty proud of that fact too. Anyways, sucks when anyone dies regardless of their politics and/or stupid behavior...RIP.

If that was the case, then all the others he was around would have been infected also. He could have contracted it anywhere. But of course, since Herman was at a Trump rally, that's what the vipers on the Left want to blame it on.

I understand you're a troll, but for all the useful idiots out there... no, his death could not have been avoided by wearing a mask.

The extreme vast majority of masks you see people walking around in are not protecting themselves from the virus... they are limiting the spread to others.

So if other people around him were always wearing masks, it is less likely he would have contracted COVID... but as far as his own personal protection? Him wearing one or not wearing one made no difference. #themoreyouknow

this is literally impossible to know...on either side

IMO if you are 74 and at any kind of mass gathering that is a mistake in itself...mask or no mask

How do the different types of masks work?
Surgical masks
Also called a medical mask, a surgical mask is a loose-fitting disposable mask that protects the wearer's nose and mouth from contact with droplets, splashes and sprays that may contain germs. A surgical mask also filters out large particles in the air. Surgical masks may protect others by reducing exposure to the saliva and respiratory secretions of the mask wearer.

At this time, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not approved any type of surgical mask specifically for protection against the coronavirus, but these masks may provide some protection when N95 masks are not available.

It would require a N100 mask to "guarantee" that you're safe. If everyone walking around were wearing N95 masks or higher, the virus would spread a lot less... but they're not... practically nobody is walking around in an N95 mask and I think I might have seen ONE guy wearing a N100 mask since this whole thing started out in public...

Surgical masks and cloth masks do very little if nothing for the wearer. They are for other people. Put your mask on right now and exhale strongly... you will notice the air is going back up towards your eyes... in other words... not towards other people.

The cloth masks aren't filtering a damn thing going into your lungs.

~primetime~
07-30-2020, 11:46 AM
yeah I'm not getting into a lengthy mask debate...but obviously nothing will ever be a 'guarantee'.

"very little" >>> nothing

better to be overly cautious...especially when you're 74

Also, by the way, for "guaranteed" actual true protection you would need a PARTICULAR TYPE of full body suit with a completely sealed face mask with an n100 filter. Then you would also need to stand underneath a sanitizing station and rinse the virus off of the suit before taking it off. Nobody is doing that.

So we do our best... wear shitty masks which is for the benefit of others, and wash your hands which is for your benefit and for others.

Look, the point I'm trying to make is... if you think you're protected to go out in public by wearing a cloth mask, you're BEYOND sorely mistaken, lol.

Herman Cain's death is proof that there is no systemic racism or any racism problem in this country whatsoever.

This was a successful Black man who was born poor, ended up starting a multi-million dollar business, and eventually ran for President. However, he gets no respect from people on the Left simply because he's a Republican. So these people don't care about his successes, they just simply see him as inferior and not worthy of praise simply because of his politics. So racism isn't the problem. Nobody prevented him from becoming who he became. So the division and hatred in this country stems from political ideology and not the color of ones skin.

Dems/lefties need black people to remain their mules... otherwise, who will they ride in on to triumphantly proclaim themselves social liberators?

They need a boost from black folks to seem taller than they really are.

It was once medical consensus that leeches can suck an illness out of your blood. Wasnt based on anything scientific, besides doctors saying “well it kinda makes sense, and we can sound like smart doctors for knowing the answer”

Guess they knew something everyone else didnt.

Listen, youre average, so youre always going to believe the popular narrative. Literally, by definition. That is what average people do.

If they could see beyond it, they wouldnt be average.

MOST people statistically are average. Youre not an exception. It’s not a bad thing per se, but youre an average guy, and you go with the mainstream pronouncements bc thats what most others are doing and it makes you feel safe.

Youre not built to go out and think on your own. God doesnt have that purpose for you.

Ok Starface, you do realize scientific theory keeps changing as new facts come in, right? There was a time when anthropologists believed the evolution of man was linear but now we have evidence of different species of hominids living at the same time, that changed with the discovery of new facts...there was a time the best minds on earth believed the sun was the center of the universe :confusedshrug:

Ok.

Im not saying thats incorrect. But from the perspective of “the virus” that makes them a better target. Because theyll have less defense.

So Burninghammer’s attempt at a cheesy “rally” statement (HEY, this virus does not care WHO you are, or WHAT RACE you are, this thing is comin for everyone) was technically incorrect.

A virus does have “preferences.” Specifically, a more susceptible host. So someone who lives one lifestyle, in one region of the country, probably does have far less to worry about than other people in other places.

That would seem to be a fact.

Okay but it’s a fact that if I’m a healthy white male in my thirties, living in a middle class area, I have substantially less reason to fear the virus than an elderly woman in a housing project.

It’s also unlikely I would have any interaction with such a person that would lead to a germ exchange.

So why should I be so concerned with “masking up” ?

But disease is a threat every single year, with every viral infection. They are communicable by nature. Yet we dont stay home or wear masks year after year.

If covid is “special” then shouldnt the elderly woman be ordering her groceries and staying within her own living community? Why is she out in public anyway if this is such a deadly virus? Isnt that irresponsible of HER?

Do you really think trying to bend me over to your will, out of some imaginary concern for old people, is what this is all about? No. You want conformity. You want coronavirus to be a thing, and for Trump to be blamed for it, and you dont want me out in public living it up, causing other people to think it might not be such a big deal afterall.

Based on what? Data that you know for a fact the government is paying hospitals to manipulate?? If someone has a brain hemorrhage and tests positive for covid, theyre calling it a covid death. In many cases theyre probably not even testing for it! Just jot it down as a covid death, collect that incentive.

I see PLENTY of old people walking around. Many of them without masks. Theyre still here with us on this Earth. How can that be? Why isnt the covid getting em??

Covid has been around for six months now. If it was so deadly, how are all these old people still around?

It’s not the government’s job to take sides. Did you take any US Govt classes in school?

Trump did immigration and reworked trade as a general benefit to workers. Not as an ADVANTAGE over business. He lowered taxes as a benefit to business. Not as an ADVANTAGE over workers. These are general benefits to the American economy. It’s not about “taking sides.”

The government is not your personal unemployment office/ATM/mental health therapist. If you need extra help, we have BILLIONS going thru charity every year for extra assistance to those in need.
