No on should take anything from one game. What I will say is that Tatum has shot 36% or below from the field in like 20 games this year.

He's either an average or below average athlete when compared to every all-star wing I can think of over the last 15 or 20 years. He doesn't get to the line a lot.

His first step and bounce are below average. He's not that fast. He's pretty strong but not that crazy.

He's not an above average midrange shooter. He's a good three-point shooter. He's an average finisher. His freethrow rate isn't good.

He's not a good passer. He's a very good defender. He doesn't readily create good separation.

Tatum ostensibly fits the bill for a future two-way superstar, but people have pushed the narrative of him as a future superstar since he came into the league.

I loved the Celtics, and I never bought it. People want him to be the next superstar, but he's not in the same class as Zion, Luka, etc. Brandon Ingram is a far better scorer and will continue to be.

Tatum is overrated. I'd say he is an all-star, but people selectively forget his first 30 or so games from this year and assume he's the 26 ppg on 59 TS% player they saw in the second half of the year. People that put up those numbers for a whole season have way better 30-game stretches. Tatum isn't consistent.

He's still a very good player. I'm not surprised by his performance today and I expect him to put in a pedestrian or below average playoff series even with a team filled with passers and shot-creators and shooters and a great coach. I think Kemba is still the better player in a vacuum.

That's all. But don't overreact to one game.
