I'm starting to feel guilty for hating on him. He really underperformed playoffs to RS, but he isnt meant to be a first scoring option. Lowry's an in the flow scorer, good floor general, great defender, and feisty competitor. So long as he isn't relied on for 20+, the guy can make a tremendous impact.

Are you watching at all? I've counted seven different occasions where Lebron passed up WIDE OPEN shots tonight, and I've only seen about 70% of this game. He is playing like Ben Simmons so far in the bubble and it's ugly. 8/25, 2/9 from three in 1 and a half games.

Honestly he should sit on the bench and rest if he isn't gonna shoot wide open shots. Those would be easy buckets for Kawhi and Harden.

Amusing game to watch. I'll start by saying I am NOT a Lakers fan; if anything I root against them.

Toronto is a team enhanced by stellar coaching and ineptitude by NBA refs. Nurse is the most similar to Popovich in the league IMO- same idea of fundamentals, tenacious team D, combined with fully exploiting the system. Namely, fouling constantly off-ball (and sometimes on-ball) but in a smart way that the refs don't see or refuse to call. Coupled with Hollywood-grade flopping, artfully trained. Lowry has been the greatest beneficiary of Nurse's style. Witness his clear foul on McGee in the paint (granted it wouldn't have been a shooting foul)- no call. On the other hand, he flops to the ground like a trained actor when him and McGee both go up for the ball and gets the call. They work the system.

Nurse and Pop are ahead of the curve; you just wonder when the system will catch up. The stuff they do well- full credit; the rest is the basketball equivalent to "financial innovation"- it's creative, it works, and it games the system.

Moral of the story, Toronto made the Lakers take ALL contested jumpers just like a Cleveland/Miami Lebron team.

They're not doubling Bron and funneling him to the bigs. He gets away with like 8 charges per game, but he has NO BRAKES or finesse so the refs are picking up on it now due to how obvious they are.

Like I said in another thread - the Raps actually PLANNED for AD and it was obvious. So much talking about communication just after him even catching the ball.

With Lebron, it was simple - just wall up or funnel him to the bigs and have the help side defender help out on the Lob to AD. His game is far too simple and he should be the ballhandler.

The offense works so much better when he's actually playing like a SF. Unfortunately, he would be forced to take lower % attempts and get less assists so it will never happened.
