View Full Version : Was Elgin Baylor as good as a prime Lebron James?

Elgin was putting up historical numbers in the 61-63. He's having one of the best performances from a 6'8 and under player in 20 years.

For the years in question, Elgin was putting up 34+/14+/4+ assists for regular and playoff seasons. Kind of like uh ... I don't know ... comparing Giannis this season to some great player in the past.

So, Imma give you the benefit of the doubt that you made an accidental mix up with those #1 and 2 spots.

And when I come back here tomorrow, I hope I’ll see it corrected.

Because if I dont... I think youll end up having some serious regrets.

Have a nice day.

We gonna pretend like Baylor got to play remotely as many playoff games as Lebron? Remember how Lebron can score 60 "anytime he wants to" in the regular season (aka when playing Charlotte)? Baylor did that in a finals against the greatest dynasty in sports history.

12 playoffs is okay I guess, LeBron has made 13 so that's a knock on Baylor (no longevity, sorry). He also wasn't a consistent gifted Finals scorer.

He only led his team in Finals scoring 3 times in his career, LeBron did it 8 times. If Elgin led in Finals scoring more he would have more points, but 3 wont cut it. That's Kobe level. Not GOAT level.

Longevity? :lol

Playoffs made
LeBron: 13
Jordan :13
Baylor: 12
Bird: 12
Kareem: 16?
Kobe: 15
Shaq: 16

The list goes on my friend.

Less Playoff games/rounds in that era lol, why compare point totals? Kareem & MJ would both probably be ahead of Lebron if the 1st round was the same in their eras.

Gee, I dunno. :confusedshrug:

Maybe it’s because Lebron’s got 12 inches of certified premium beefsteak packed in his downstairs business :hammerhead:

Smarten up. This is your warning.

He didn't have the longevity. Maybe top 15 all-time SF since at some point his brilliance over 5-6 years trumps other guys being stars but not superstars for 10-11 years.

Grant at his best could have been #7 (don't care who thinks otherwise), but I don't know if overall I could take him ahead of either Nique or Pierce.

He's my #11.
