It’s neo-colonialism. I don’t consider that as hard sanction like Iran sanction. We were patiently waiting to hit them hard at the right time. Hugo and his anti American rhetoric were making waves in South America and his Robin Hood style via Bolivarian already popularized anti American sentiments.

The price of oil took a nosedive, we stiffled the influx of dollars by freezing the Venezuelans with the most US dollars assets and made them a persona non grata. Hugo manipulating prices and his currency can’t save them because importers are demanding dollars. Hugo did not live long enough to see this but he would have been like Maduro . He will still have enough people support but will loan their way to stay afloat .
