View Full Version : How many kids are going to... (virtual schooling)

How many kids are going to up their 'bullshitting-their-way-through-school' game with the increased rate of adoption of virtual classes?
How much will this further stunt the social growth of youth? What will it do to further deteriorate their education?
Will everything just remain the same and I'm just some paranoid quack? I don't think one year particularly matters, but if it becomes a trend for whatever reason...
Interesting times indeed.

I probably have more respect for teachers than most americans, but these crybaby teachers need to stop whining and start stepping up to the plate like the "essential workers" they are.
Millions of working class americans have spent the past ~5 months working "essential" jobs like checking people out at the grocery store, and yet we havent seen a huge die-off in grocery workers (or any other group of essential workers).
Forcing this nations children to suffer because old americans are selfish jabronies should go down as the dictionary definition of "boomer mentality"

Are you sure?
Wal-Mart closed 200 stores permanently due to the entire staff dying off! ;)

I have very little respect for teachers. A bunch of C students who never hacked it in life to teach about life

Kids are becoming more and more social retarded anyway. I love my niece but she enjoys talks on her kids messenger on the ipad more than she does when her friends were face to face with her. The attention spans are gone. Learning through a virtual class good luck :oldlol: I just worry about parents insanity now that they can't have teachers babysitting their kids for free.

Its the parents’ fault across this country tbh.
Kids shouldnt even have smart phones til theyre out of high school. They are completely unnecessary and do far more harm than good.
But just like with everything else, monkey see, monkey do, and parents just copy what everyone else is doing :hammerhead:

Kids see other kids with things and they whine and cry about it. I can't say I would handle the situation better because my brother is a clinical psychologist (he should be as good as anyone to handle this) but he also panicked when my niece wouldn't eat unless she was watching something on the ipad. She's better now but she has to be coaxed by reward time with the ipad. She definitely listens because the parents are about to have another kid and know they will have less time for her shenanigans :oldlol:

It is very bad. Young kids already have more difficulty socializing due to face to face contact more and more being outsourced through smart phones and social media. Even for the most reclusive kids, school makes them go out there and forces them to get with it or at least deal with it. It conditions you for real life where a lot of the time, you have to do things you don’t want to do. That’s life. Not forcing kids to go to school is just going to result in more of the “snowflake” self diagnosed social anxiety type people that end up being parasitic.

Covid and public school is complex af but I can tell you right now it absolutely will not be an ongoing trend with schools...it DOES look like it could be in the workforce though, particularly in the tech industry. Some businesses are coming to the realization that their employees working from home is cheaper and more efficient. They don't have to pay for office space for one. Facebook and Twitter have said many of it's employees will work remotely infinitely now, Google has said similar, and many smaller names in tech.
I think many people have envisioned a future where there is no reason to leave home...and covid probably just sped up the inevitable.

On my way to the pizza parlor today for lunch an old man (without a mask) said hello to me struck up a conversation on the short walk there. Talking about the storm and shit yesterday, real friendly fellow. I felt socially retarded because strangers dont usually happily small talk with one another in today's day and age. It felt so strange. Makes me wish I had been born before cell phones and computers.

You had lunch at a "pizza parlor"? Do you live in the 1980s or something?

I agree its very tough on the parents when you believe something is important, but all the other parents dont care and your child sees all the other kids being allowed to do this or that and blames you for not being allowed.
Thats why parents should be talking to other parents and seeing if they can find some common ground on these things. Instead of all just following the ones who show the least concern.

No doubt that the NY/NJ/CT region has the best pizza in the nation (and probably the entire world for that matter)... I just havent heard someone call a pizza place a "parlor" since I was a kid :oldlol:

Never been to NYC, was going to do that this year but looks like it'll have to wait... I have heard that NYC has the best pizza because... of the water. Native New Yorker born and raised told me that the water quality there is absolutely amazing and some of its properties derived from nearby mountains are why the pizza is so good.

it's probably because all the italians flocked to Brooklyn when they came over here 100 years ago, and they brought with them their expertise in making beautiful pizzas.

No doubt... and we can all agree that those Italian immigrants should stick to things they know - like making food...rather than pretending to be some kind of covid expert like the "Hitler of AIDS" (look it up) aka Anthony Fauci
In all seriousness, what kind of idiot nation puts an Italian in charge of public health? What idiot nation puts an Italian in charge of anything other than pizza and/or red sauce? We should make Fauci and Cuomo can have a competition to see who is more retarded... I'd bet that both of them lose (and thus the entire nation loses too).

It's almost a certainty that "covid induced school cancellations" will be lifted after the election, for a couple reasons.
For one, covid is predominantly an election scheme by the 1% which a lot of the common boobs are predictably falling for.
But also, moving to a virtual classroom would be particularly damaging to Democrats. It reduces the demand for teachers (teachers unions are a major DNC voter block) and also it will eventually be called "racist," because it's a disproportionate burden to both the parents and the children of low income and/or dysfunctional families, which most politicians associate with minorities. This is actually a legitimate concern in a broad sense, regardless of race. Altho the politicians won't be motivated by it for 'legitimate concern' reasons. They'll be motivated to not be called racist.
How can you do physical education through online school? By playing online games with your fellow students via your smartphones, ofc.

yarp. theres places in LA that get shipments of NY tap water in order to make their bagels. It's like a specific PH balance to it, they claim.

why would anyone ship water from NY across the country when they can get the same thing out of their toilet?

if the government schools aren't going to be open, then send the money to families and allow them to choose.
we spend $15k per child/yr, so just give it to family directly
Gavin Newsom are in the hands of the Teacher Unions tho so he's even made private schools illegal. insane

It's crazy how quick the average person is to give up their whole community's freedom to a politician and the special interests behind him, just because they see that trusty (D) by his name.

I would bet the farm that CA will allow private schools to open within a week or two... and if they dont, the wealthy parents are going to get together and start paying private school teachers to teach small groups of kids.
Meanwhile, the public school kids will miss 1/2 (or more) of their school year, and fall months and months and months behind their wealthy peers (that were already lapping them pre-covid)...
