That blast in Beirut was impressive but it is a midget when compared to daddy Einsteins baby:

And to think a mere 16 years later the Soviets tested Tsar Bomba that was 3000 times more powerful, with a full potential of 5000 times as much. I always wondered why the Soviets never came up with anything bigger than that and the US never bigger dick chasing them.

We should honor the anniversary with another drop.

You don't want anything bigger. Tsar Bomba would probably destroy all 5 boroughs of nyc. What's the point of going bigger?

They said that in the blast they believe there was 2750 tons of the same material used in Oklahoma City...and the OKC bombing had around 5,000 pounds...
2750 x 2000 = 5,500,000 pounds
So the Beirut explosion was around 1000x more powerful than the Oklahoma City bombing?
Damn.
As for the biggest nuke. I’m pretty sure that Russian bomb was so big that it couldn’t be placed on an ICBM or some other sort of missile. They had a hard time figuring out how to deliver it and if it was any bigger the pilots would be blown up in the blast. It would be much better to launch dozens of smaller tactical nuclear missiles rather than dropping one gigantic bomb.
