View Full Version : Top Three players in the league right now?

It's gotta be Kawhi, Giannis, Harden correct?

It's a shame Curry and KD sat this year out, but the three players above have been the most dominant players all year.

Harden is probably the most underrated player over these last two seasons:

143 Games - 35.3/6.5/7.5 averages on 61.8 TS%, 29.7 PER, 10.2 BPM, 16.2 VORP - These are literally MJ numbers. I doubt even Kobe has two regular seasons in a row putting up these numbers

Playoffs last year he had 32/7/7 and lost to the 19 Warriors with KD mostly healthy for that series. I think he and the Rockets could win it all this year and I wouldn't even be surprised.

Im so nba'd out

Kawhi, Giannis and LeBron/Harden share 3rd spot

Harden has clearly been above Lebron these last two years. Lebron is still great, but he is living off of his rep some, kind of like Kobe in 2011-2013. Still a great player, but relatively overrated. Last two years below.

Harden:
143 Games - 35.3/6.5/7.5 averages on 61.8 TS%, 29.7 PER, 10.2 BPM, 16.2 VORP - 36.7mpg

Lebron:
119 Games - 26.3/8.2/9.4 averages on 58.3% TS, 25.5 PER, 8.3 BPM, 10.8 VORP - 35mpg

Honestly, how can anyone say Lebron has been better?

You can absolutely make the case that Harden has been the best player in the league since last year (I have KD number 1 in 2019 though before getting injured). Kawhi was great last year as well, but he didn't face KD for 5 games with GS like Harden did.

Didn't even make the playoffs last year. Maybe not even top 5. Got swept last time he was in the playoffs.

you call giannis a "post season loser". but booker has 0 post season wins in his career. its impossible to have fewer. where are you going with this?

ahh yes, the classical comparison of apples to oranges.

give booker a more talented team and he may make it to the post season. having a g-leauge pg and bench players won't get you far no matter who you are.

sure but a lot of the responsibility, and therefore blame, has to also go to booker himself. he doesnt get a free pass from all this. its not all his fault. but a lot of it is. hes the star of the team.

you cant bring up booker and at the same time call giannis a post season loser.

well, for one, giannis is constantly rated as a tier 1 player. many say he's the best...booker doesn't get rated even in the top 20.

so yeah...

wait, so your defense to calling giannis a loser is that hes a top player who has lost in the playoffs, and booker is simply worse and thus is immune to postseason criticism?

then why did you bring up booker in the first place? you cant have it both ways.

if giannis is a "loser" then thats really bad news for booker.

besides the thread asked whos a top 3 player in the league right now. you brought up booker. if hes top 3, then why does he have zero post season wins? your logic is all over the place.

dear lord...

so let me get this straight...booker is a top 3 player in the league with zero playoff wins, but all of the blame of his lack of success is due to teammates, coaches, front office, etc...

but giannis is an overrated loser with no skill?

um...yeah. ok. you're not a big fan of credibility, facts, or logic, are you? just close your eyes, go full homer and pray for the best? good luck with that.

He's a complete liability on defense and too reliant on the 3 which is probably why his production always dips down in the postseason. Can't be in the same tier as someone that has more tools in the toolbox and elite on both ends in the court.

Yeah and he can't carry a team to a win on his own alone without klay playing at the same time, something that was already proven during game 3 of the 2019 finals. He's just a part of a great winning team but his former teammate kd was better when he was still playing with them.

Agree with the names mentioned. As for ordering I would say:

1. LBJ
2. KD
3. Kawhi
4. Steph
5. Giannis

Giannis can climb, but I haven't seen him dominate the playoffs on the level of the other players yet.

Lebron missed the playoffs last year by a WIDE Margin, got a care package from the league and Klutch Sportz in AD, and riding the coattails of arguably a top 3 player in the league. Not in the discussion.

AD
Gianni
Harden

In any given order or any given night.

I dont understand how anyone has Lebron in the top 3? I mean, Lebron is my favorite player in the league right now, but he hasn't done anything over the last two years to be considered better than Kawhi, Harden, or Giannis.

Who is the worst player out of the below?

Player A:
143 Games - 35.3/6.5/7.5 averages on 61.8 TS%, 29.7 PER, 10.2 BPM, 16.2 VORP - 36.7mpg - (Elite playoff run)

Player B:
119 Games - 26.3/8.2/9.4 averages on 58.3 TS%, 25.5 PER, 8.3 BPM, 10.8 VORP - 35mpg (No playoffs)

Player C:
115 Games - 26.7/7.3/4.1 averages on 59.6 TS%, 26.2 PER, 8.0 BPM, 9.6 VORP - 33.2mpg (Finals appearance)

Player D:
133 Games - 28.6/13/5.8 averages on 62.9 TS%, 31.4 PER, 11.0 BPM, 13.9 VORP - 31.8mpg (Elite playoff run)
