He did it again. I got almost all of my magazines already when this happened in 2017 but I did miss out on a few things I wanted. Had to wait a few years but it happened again. Anyone in California you better buy right now. Last time everyone sold out in about a day or two. So last time I was able to get in one huge order in but I forgot one or two things and tried back the next day....all sold out all sites across the board and had to wait 3 years until today. They are shipping now.

Don’t snooze, get it now or never.

This law just protects Californians from it's state government coming in like Nazi stormtroopers and confiscating regular capacity magazines that were already purchased legally(and illegally if it can't be proved as such) right? Does it allow Californians to now purchase and import regular capacity magazines?

Yes. Companies started opening up their shipping to California last night. Last time this happened in 2017 it lasted one week before it was overturned. I thought you lived in California for some reason.

I'd have to be paid VERY well to ever move to that state. :lol

I'd be careful ordering any mags right now. Read this while googling an answer. It's from the CalGuns website (you Californians have by far the best area specific forum on the internet for gun owners).

Today’s opinion, however, should not be read as immediately ending the ban on acquiring magazines over 10 rounds. While possession of these magazines remains legal under the injunction issued by the district court in 2017, it is unclear whether today’s decision lifts the district court’s 2019 order staying the injunction that would have halted the enforcement of the manufacture and acquisition ban. According to the terms of that order, it remains in effect “pending final resolution” of the Duncan appeal. And because the state of California may petition for an 11-judge en banc panel to rehear the case or file a petition directly to the Supreme Court of the United States, it may be months before this appeal is finally resolved. Put simply, take caution! It is unclear whether California residents may begin to purchase magazines over 10 rounds yet.

From what I understand it is now basically legal for sellers outside the state to sell and ship magazines to California residents, however the wording from the judge panel does not necessarily prohibit California authorities from coming after you for buying and importing regular capacity magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds.

Why? So they can implement more gun control like the Mulford Act?

How would the state of california know when and where its residents bought their magazines anyway?

Its kinda funny that Cali has such dystopian gun laws, considering that just accross the border in Oregon I can walk into any gun store with a wad of cash and walk out a few minutes later with as many enormous magazines as my heart desires (zero limit on magazine sizes in this state, unless you're hunting)

Small federal government and let the states decide...And yet open borders between states. We can't have it both ways.

I'll take small federal govt with states deciding... at least that way if your local laws suck you can move somewhere else with decent laws.

Theres no escaping from bad federal laws.

They don't. That's why they want an outright ban. Because the majority of hicaps in that state probably came in after the ban. Mostly ordered as "rebuild kits" then illegally assembled within California. It has proven very difficult for DAs to prosecute such "crimes" to the point they aren't even trying to charge people anymore.

If someone can live in one state and only travel to another to buy a gun or get an abortion or file a lawsuit or utilize a tax loophole, etc. Certain authoritarian laws lose their power. They might as well not exist. Even if one has libertarian views one can imagine an extreme scenario where a state descends into complete anarchy. How is a neighboring state supposed to handle that while keeping borders open?

no doubt... these days Californian DAs arent really prosecuting any crimes... except stupid pointless shit like not wearing a mask or calling someone by the wrong pronoun.

It depends on the station. You can pump your own at a lot of the rural ones, but self-serve is pretty rare in the city.

I have been daily driving an electric car for the past ~4 years... so I dont really spend much time at gas pumps

Anyway I will gladly let someone pump my gas if it means I also get to have unlimited access to fun things like 100 rd drum magazines :oldlol:

You dont have to have libertarian views to imagine a state descending into complete anarchy... hell you dont even need to do any imagining, just look outside and you can see the real thing :oldlol:

Generally speaking the way a state handles a situation where their laws are different from their neighbors, is by enforcing their laws on people who are inside of their state. While any Californian can go up to Oregon, buy a bunch of high cap magazines, and then bring them back home to California... things like this typically put a person at risk of significant prison time, which is the deterrent.

Anyway, I tend to think that most situations that would result in a state descending into complete anarchy would probably be something that also causes anarchy in neighboring states and potentially the entire country. When anarchy arrives, I doubt any state borders are going to stop it from spreading.

California does what it can to ruin the beautiful state it is/was.

Hollywood is slowly moving to Georgia
Porn industry crippled because the state determined they must wear condoms (Atleast according the thechive article i read a few years ago)
Stupid car insurance rates

the list can go on.. that said my parents and brother live and own businesses there and wouldn't move.
