Not a new opinion, thought this when I first saw it, kept thinking it upon seeing replays, but just figured I'd make it a topic:

Logan is one of the best action/superhero movies of all time. From start to finish it was a real... EXPERIENCE.

The only "catch" is, you probably have to have seen lots of the other X-Men movies and have to have cared about the characters a lot, leading into this movie.

If you just saw this movie and have no history caring about Wolverine, Professor X, etc. then Logan is probably just "good."

Great Ending to a Great Character

I think it was a great ending for Hugh Jackman's role as the wolverine. He's really done a fantastic job and they closed his role nicely, allowing for a future actor to take his role in another movie or cinematic universe.

It was really awesome, but the best of the best is still The Dark Knight 2 tho.

No way. Very forgettable movie. Would never watch it for the second time.

It doesn't come near best superhero movies like Watchmen, Nolan's batman series or first couple of spidermans.

Hugh Jackman was horribly miscast. Shouldn't have been anywhere near it.

I agree, it's totally dark and... unfortunately very sad... but one of the best for sure.

Ranking Superhero movies is very difficult...I do think Logan is up there but my main beef with Logan is that it came after the success of Deadpool, which proved that a rated-R superhero movie can have great success. So because of that much of Logan is over the top violence simply for the sake of being violent, which is a great change of pace from typical superhero movies, but at the end of the day it is a cheap way to grab people. Some times it feels like "LOOK EVERYONE! WE'RE BEING VIOLENT, LOOK AT ALL THIS BLOOD!!!" ...but I again, I do think Logan is a good flick.

Wish they would do a Deadpool vs Logan flick, and Ryan Reynolds pushed hard for that to happen...but Hugh Jackman is sticking to retiring the character.

- Days of Future Past
- Watchmen
- Deadpool
- The Dark Knight
- Logan
- Spiderverse

^^^ I think those are probably my top-6...in no particular order

100% agree with OP.

I would probably rank Logan as the 2nd best superhero movie after Dark Knight (maybe third best if Joker counts as a superhero movie). Not only is Logan the best wolverine movie (and almost every x-men movie has basically been a wolverine movie - esp the old ones), but its also my favorite performance by Patrick Stewart as Professor X. It seems to be really hard to make a good "send off" movie for a character in a big film franchise, and this film might be the greatest and most fulfilling "send off" in the history of hollywood franchises.

btw, note to hollywood - If you want to put strong/badass female characters in your movies, this film is a PERFECT example of how to do it correctly. The little girl character was flat out awesome... and despite saying very few words, her character was extremely well written (and well acted too).

While Jackman did a great job as Wolverine (especially in Logan) and obviously put a ton of time and effort into the character, I hope Disney choses an actor who is shorter, hairier, and arguably "ugly" (by hollywood standards at least) to play the next wolverine... I am thinking someone along the lines of an athletic version of Jonah Hill or something

Not only would this be a refreshing change of pace in a marvel universe where virtually every character is played by someone who looks like a greek god, but this sort of actor would be much more in keeping with the way wolverine was typically portrayed in the comics.

The Batman looks awesome so far I think it will be a great movie.

Logan holds up, will be hard for the next actor to take on wolverine as hugh Jackman did an outstanding job.
