Complete decimation of the Cavs here. Mike's perennial punching bag.

Mike is still the only player to record consecutive 50-point games

GOAT level series by MJ here.

What's just as surprising is his drop of play the next series against the Pistons.

MJ went 45/5/5 on 63.2 TS%/126 ORTG vs the Cavs.

MJ then went 27/9/5 on 54.9 TS%/106 ORTG vs the Pistons.

I gotta think Lillard or Harden will come for that back to back 50 soon. Play a combined 90 minutes in two games being aggressive it won’t take much these days.

It is interesting to note the lack of 50 point playoff games by some of the better post MJ scorers ( AI,Kobe, Durant, Harden etc).

To be fair, there have only been 38 50 point playoff games in NBA history, and MJ has 8 of them. AI actually ranks 3rd all-time with 3, right behind Wilt who had 4.

Damn, you'd think MJ would show up in the big one.

Were the Cavs terrible or did MJ just fcked it in the next series?

I don't think it was an unfair observation. It merely highlights that MJ had another offensive gear he could reach in the playoffs moreso than those aforementioned notable scorers. Same with 40 point games( 38 games, the next closest is Lebron with 27).
