Can Giannis do it,or Shaq destroy him at the posts just what he did to the best centers and forwards in the 1990's, or early 2000's??

Giannis wouldn't do shit.

Shaq would baptize him and then eat him like BBQ chicken. Zero chance for Giannis. Shaq is just too heavy, too powerful and too smart for Giannis. Shaq was rumored to be 400 pounds in 2002. Giannis like Drob would need a Duncan level defender next to him to hold down Shaq and even then it wouldn't be enough.

Shaq loves Giannis. He compliments him all the time. Why would Giannis say something like this?

He can outrun him, that's for sure. But brute force? It's no brainer. Shaq is bigger and tougher. However, outside the post, giannis is more flexible and versatile as well.

How funny would it be if Giannis went obese after 30 and started playing like Shaq did.

Shaq would drop his usual 40 and make hummus out of Giannis.

Hakeem could stop shaq. Giannis is much stronger than hakeem, so what he is claiming is not impossible.

Competitiveness and pride. What is Giannis going to say to that question? “Oh yeah Shaq would abuse me badly. I would have no answer and he would destroy me nightly” :lol No he’s gonna say he can stop him. In his mind he probably does believe he can stop him.

Couple of things wrong here...

1) Shaq was a baby when he played Hakeem.
2) Hakeem didn't "stop" Shaq... lol... here's their finals matchup... Shaq averaged 28 ppg in that series... in fact, 28 ppg, 12.5 rpg, 6.3 apg, 2.5 bpg, 0.3 spg... on 59.5% shooting...

HE STOPPED HIM DOE!

HAKEEM STOPPED SHAQ!!!!

OHHHHHH LAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWDDDDYY HE STOPPED HIM! STOPPED HIM GUD!!!

But the Rockets won, so this is the typical IQ thought process. Holy ****.

And back to the OP, if he really did indeed say that, Giannis is a delusional idiot.

Carry on.

I remember him stripping Shaq and giving him a lot of issues in crunch time. What's with the overreaction? :oldlol:

You're not exactly stopping someone in a series when they average 28/12.5/6.3/2.5 on 59.5%.

But maybe that's what Giannis means? He can hold Orlando Shaq under 30?

Lol if he said that he's an idiot. Shaq would foul him out after 8 mins. The truth is he would guard him 1 play and either get dunked on or foul him and then wouldn't guard him the rest of the game. Brook would be on him.

Shaq had 21 TOs in 4 games. 28 ppg in 45 mpg isn't that great for him, considering his 29.3 ppg in 37 mpg in the RS. Hakeem played ATG defense on him in crunch time.

For a complete picture Dream himself played 45mpg and he took 116 shots( to Shaqs 74) to avg 4 more points. It's been light years since I've seen that series so I'd need to watch it again rather than rely on the box score.
