View Full Version : Does anyone really believe the Mavs have a better offense than the 16-19 Warriors?

Best offensive rating is just a stat to me, more indicative of today's inflated stats. Doesn't mean I take the current Mavs offense over the Warriors, particularly not with Durant.

Curry & Durant >> Doncic.
Klay > Porzingas
Draymond in that system > rest of Mavs

The people saying that aren’t talking about basketball and wouldn’t likely discuss how good the people playing those offenses are at playing basketball. How good a team is at offense is a context free math problem that can’t be debated beyond that.

Obviously not. It's just a clear example of how overflated numbers have become in this no defense era of professional basketball.

Id take them over pre-KD Warriors for sure.

Warriors offense flowed incredibly well whereas Luka holds the ball up a lot

The 15/16 Warriors averaged 4.7 more ppg than the second best scoring team, the KD led Thunder, who were 3.6 ppg ahead of the third best team. I don't care how efficient this Mavs offense is, they aren't even the top scoring team in the league, and they aren't outscoring teams like those Warriors teams did.

just do ortgrelative to league average, warriors come out ahead I think. Also the factor of the warriors coasting during the Rs after 2017. Warriors might not be the goat offense however as raw talent isnt everything

OP is underrating how good the Mavs bench were in the regular season.

Pretty sure the Mavs bench themselves would still have the best offensive rating in the league. Without Luka, the Mavs still had like a 115ORTG.

They wont get the recognition because they don't have as many big names and don't play the same style.
