It's pretty much impossible for the rockets to win a ring given their style of play. 3 pt spamming is a highly volatile style and all they need is one down series out of a gauntlet of lakers/clippers/celtics to get wiped away with ease. If they were in a weak conference and only had to beat like 1 or 2 legit contenders they'd have a puncher's chance, but with the gauntlet they currently face, they have literal lotto odds at winning it all.

eh... you must not have watched the Blazer series... another 3 pt gunning team. They won game 1 and we're "raining down" on them in game 3 but refs gave the Lakers a quadruple FT advantage through 3 quarters to allow them to keep up. All Lebron and AD have to do is put their heads down and charge the rim and they will get marched to the line all night. It's still a much better challenge than OKC could present, but Harden will have to go nuclear, Westbrook will have to return to at least mediocre form, and the shooters will have to be red hot the whole time.

blazers game 1 and 2 were a good warmup for the jump-shooting the rockets will bring.

lakers dont have the perimeter defense that the thunder had but they have much better interior scoring. they're going to get a ton of offensive rebounds lobs and putbacks.

the longer the series goes the more the rockets stars are going to run out of gas and the punishment and wear and tear will be obvious meanwhile lebron and AD will be fresh and will out-execute them in close games.


rockets can still get hot but I dont really see it tbh. lakers in 5.

I've always hates this saying. They aren't due for anything until they can prove that they're good enough to win. They haven't done that at all.

Everyone says Larry Fitzgerald is due for a ring or deserves a ring. Same with Steve Nash. If they deserved it, they would've won one.

There use to be an announcer that would say

"Win by the three, die by the three" because he knew that type of game play was no way of winning a series. Maybe a game, but not a series because teams adjust.

This was before this 3pt era but I still find it holds true.

I want to say it was Chick Hearn but not sure.
