"That's not my knack...to just shoot [and] score the ball. I can and pride myself on being effective on both ends"
He is the cringiest guy in the NBA at this point.

It is a lame cop out--the guy was 2nd in the league in scoring last year.

Using cringe is embarrassing. With that aside... Paul George has always been embarrassing. Fresno riding the tail of San Diego.

He sure takes a lot of horrible shots for someone that isn't a scorer. :oldlol: This is why Playoff P is Playoff P. Terrible attitude and body language all game, then goes up and tries to justify his awful play the last 2 games.
No Playoff P. You've been horrible. Of course you're no Harden. Hell, you're no Gallinari right now. Figure it out and quit crying to the media.

:lol He says he isn't a scorer but has 26% usage. Williams is third on the team--at 20%. That is a lot of usage and shooting on offense for a self-proclaimed non-scorer.

Post the entire interview. He actually holds himself accountable for the bad shooting.
I think the Harden stuff is more about the California guys poking fun of one another.

Man averages 28 ppg last year and says "I'm not a scorer - that's not my knack." :oldlol::oldlol:

Oh well let him put up his 16/7/4 shit. Kawhi will just get that much more credit when they win. 33/10/5 for Papa Kawhi right now.

Kawhi was Adam Sandler and Paul George was David Spade in the movie "The do over"
Kawhi had to pick him up and say "Daddy's got you"

I think the problem is George has been a #1 his whole life. He doesn't understand how to be a #2. Hopefully he gets it as the playoffs go on. His best year by far was when he was a #1 on thunder.

Either because Harden is 3 time scoring champ or it was a shot at Harden's defense.

He was his first year in OKC but he surpassed Westbrook in year two. I wonder if he thinks he can do the same with Kawhi. I doubt it since it is not rational since Kawhi is on another level than Westbrook, but people who are that elite in whatever field often have inflated egos so you never know (any NBA player is elite as a basketball player and a guy like PG is one of the 10 best, so elite even within that already small sub-set). It is like Joe Flacco thinking he was the best QB or how every U.S. Senator thinks they should be president. :lol

Exactly but remember his first year in OKC kind of sucked, so that goes with the trend of him struggling to figure out the #2 role
Not a chance on passing up Kawhi. 1B at times wouldn't hurt though. So far in playoffs he's like a 2a that shares 2nd scorer with Morris.

True--but a lot of the problem in OKC seemed to be Carmelo. His splits with Carmelo off the floor were great.
Plus all #1's are not the same. In 13' he was 25th in scoring, West was 29th, Hill 50th. He clearly was their best overall player but in terms of scoring it was more of a shared load than is remembered based on what he became after 13'.

Haha. Funny.
But none the less, I don‘t think it was a dig.. He more so meant the volume used to score, not the defensive part..
None the less, bad timing, bad to name drop anyone..
Is he not aware that is a team he could lose to this year and it would look extra bad?!

I know you dream of Kawhi, but George isn't the "#2". He's their second best player but when you watch this team they pretty much take turns.
One guy is better but they aren't built around George playing 2nd fiddle. There's no system set up for that.

31% usage for Kawhi
26% usage for George
That's a 2nd option. Last night's game in particular, George kept insisting that Kawhi does everything. George doesn't want that smoke, he wants to be a Pippen type scorer.

You both are right. George is a second option but if a team has two superstars there are always going to be times in games where the second guy takes the lead. 26% usage is high usage (as a comp, he was at 28% as a #1 in Indiana)--George is closer to Kawhi in usage than #3 option Williams is to George.

He took 16 shots, KP took 18 and that was with KP operating as the #1 option for a significant part of the game.
Game 2 is the only game where the top two options for both teams played the full game. In that game Kawhi took 21 shots, PG 17, Luka 17, and KP 13. That is significant volume.
The problem for the Clippers is all that volume is producing nothing in 2 of the 3 games.

Yeah but George is ok with just scoring 17-20PPG. He has never really done much of anything in playoffs, especially in the west. Its basically Kawhi's team with George/Lou/Morris all stepping up as 2nd options in different moments. You will notice as the rounds go on, Kawhi's usage will continue to increase.

True--but that 17 PPG is coming on 18 shots. The Pippen analogy doesn't hold. 17 PPG when your team is averaging 120 PPG instead of 90-100 PPG is akin to Horace Grant or Kukoc level scoring when you adjust for team scoring (the equivalent for, say, 97' Pippen would be 26 PPG out of 120). They gave up Gallo, SGA, all those picks for that level of scoring?
