It sold late last night for 3.93mil

It's a 1 of 1 that's in mint condition. Seller originally bought it in 2018 for 400 grand. Friends and family told him he was crazy and mentioned many other things that money could have bought.

We see who got the last laugh.

Is this seriously worth $4 million? Wouldn't you rather buy a nice house or something?

That's nuts. Will Trout win a World Series?

I have no idea who the buyer is, but probably safe to assume they have several nice homes

It's still crazy that people are paying crazy money for things like this in these uncertain times. During economic booms it's still crazy but in times like this it's just a head scratcher.

Of course with all the printed money that's taken place under Trump, and even more will certainly be under a Democrat president and Congress, inflation could push the value of this card to 10 million in a couple of years and I'll look like as big an idiot as the friend's and family of the guy who paid 400k just 2 years ago :D

Every time I give investing in sports cards any thought I'm put off by the fact they are so heavily counterfeited.

I guess that part of the appeal with this card... its impossible to counterfeit a 1 of 1... not hard to track who has the real one.

No doubt, but I could never imagine dropping that kind of money on a little card that's just gonna sit on my shelf, no matter how much money I had. My guess is he either bought it because he believes he can flip it for a higher price later on, or it was just an ego purchase

So was this card placed in a random box? Or did some rich guy pay someone off at Bowman to get it?

I know rookie cards of certain superstars can get extremely expensive through time, but being this expensive after only a decade?
