View Full Version : Let's talk about how the refs almost gave away the game 2x @ the end of regulation.

Both of those three point shots that resulted in fouls in regulation were absolute bullshit.

1) Kawhi did not foul Hardaway. He touched his hand AFTER the shot. He didn't interfere with the shot and there was no unnecessary contact. Barely touching someone's hand isn't a foul. It should not have been free throws at all. Someone explain to me how this was a foul? Is the difference that when someone has the ball still in their hands, hitting their hand is ok, but if they don't have the ball, it's not? I mean, surely that's the only explanation because I've seen guys have their hands hit with the ball dozens and dozens of times with no foul call? But it didn't interfere with the shot and it wasn't unnecessary contact. Didn't seem like a foul to me.

2) Lou Williams literally didn't attempt to make a shot whatsoever. He just straight up looked for his defender and jumped straight at him. That was an offensive foul, it should not have been free throws at all. They started cracking down on this a quite a few years ago and made it an area of focus there for a while, but it seems to have slipped by the wayside since then as offensive shooters continue to initiate contact and get the whistle. Makes no sense to me.

LUCKILY, both Hardaway and Williams missed 1 of their 3 free throws because the refs would have literally given the game away had they not.

These weren't borderline calls with obstructed fields of view for the officials. They were out there in plain sight... pretty obvious. I don't understand.

Lou also got away with fouling Luka on the steal that resulted in 2 points. Refs suck.
