Look, his strategy with Embiid is inexcusable, but every other coach in the league is going to do the same.
He deserves to be fired but at the same time it's not his fault that Brand has absolutely gutted the roster of damn near everything that made them an exciting and competitive team.
Both Brand & Brown should be getting the axe.
Oh well, a few more years and Brand will be gone too after he does some more damage.

Firing a coach is the easy way out, he makes for a not so difficult scapegoat. Things went south for the Sixers way earlier and there's people in that organisation that deserve more blame. They had it all and they blew it.

True, but there isn't some other coach that's going to come in and do well.
They have no shooters, LMFAO.
Who's their best shooter? Korkmaz is it, right? That's like literally it.

They aren't, because they're stupid. They're going to let him **** the roster up some more for another year or two.

Simmons for Booker
solves your shooting problem at least.

If it were me, I would be dealing Embiid.
What's the point in having dominant post bigs in today's league if nobody is going to use them as a ****ing post big? The NBA has its head up its ass as it pertains to centers.
For a guy that plays stellar defense and shoots 3s at an extremely sub par rate, he is very much overpaid. Don't get me wrong, if teams used him correctly, he'd be worth it, but Brown didn't, and I don't think anyone else will either.
Give Simmons 4 shooters and watch him flourish.

trust me, i'm right there with you. i yell at my screen when I see Ayton settling for a mid range shot when he could easily dominate the post bc he's the strongest/biggest player on the court most of the time. pisses me off.
but with the right coach, Embiid would probably be more dominant than Simmons...i think they have to trade one to make the team truly competitive. so much wasted potential between the two of them. if i were a fan, i'd be sick to my stomach that they got swept.

LOL
The Sixers front office chose Brown over Butler.. Let JJ walk.. Then decided to max Harris and bring in an old ass Horford.. That has nothing to do with Brown.. but I suppose he will be the fall guy.
I saw this on reddit but its true. Imagine getting the keys to this franchise that has Embiid, Simmons, Covington, Saric, Holmes, Grant, Noel.. Along with the best assets in the league and two max spots.. and you end up with the roster that they do. Your average 2K myleague player could do a better job.. All that tanking to now be the 5-7th best team in the east for years to come.

Don't forget Fultz. Dealt Fultz for nothing, and he's been a solid and promising piece in Orlando.

Philly is a tough situation. Both guys are once in a decade type talents that mirror almost a Shaq and Penny Hardaway vibe.
Embiid is dominant and more reliant on a STRONG headcoach that maximizes his time on the court. When healthy, he is the better player and a clear cut top 10 player.
Simmons is the SF that can do it all and can give you the Lebron effect (4 shooters, and him slashing doing what he wants)
Both are risks. Simmons when healthy is supremely conditioned so he can play harder minutes. I could see Philly trading Embiid and building around Simmons.

Meh, give Embiid 4 shooters and he'd do better than Simmons would imo. The only thing more worthless than a traditional big in today's NBA is a perimeter player who can't shoot.

You think so, eh?
So your strategy is 5 out for over half of the plays down? Cause that's what it would look like. It would look like a Simmons team except nobody can get to the basket as easily nor pass as well.
What coach is going to park Embiid in the post in 2020? Lol, coaches, like most people in life, are lemmings. 99% of NBA coaches throughout history are no exception.
Simmons doesn't have to be an elite shooter... he just needs to be an elite slasher, which he is, and to be hooked up with 4 shooters. Hell, he doesn't even have to be a good shooter. Just get to the bucket.

There is very little chance Embiid or Simmons are traded.
At least till the new coach comes in and had a chance to work with them.
If either is traded it won't happen for another year minimum.

And if they don't address the absolutely gaping hole that is a complete lack of shooting on their roster, they will be right back here in the same position next year. A new coach won't fix the fact that the team can't shoot.
I'm sure the F.O will do their best "nothing to see here" now they have thrown Brown under the bus.
They are going to try blame him and only him to save their own asses.
Just watch.

Well, let's see what they do with the roster.
If Brown truly was the problem, don't make any roster moves... or barely tweak it. Don't make any major moves.
Just hire a new coach. And I'll eat crow if need be.

Embiid averaged 30 ppg, and 15 rpg in the playoffs. They need to trade Ben Simmons for Bradley Beal and some filler.

Can't blame Brown for having $60M of capspace tied up between Tobias and Al.
Why do non sixers fans speak on a coaching situation they aren't fully in the know of? Brett was not a good coach for this team. Cool for the process but when they started winning he could not get them to the next level.
Anyway hoping for some luck like drafting at the top for a HC that is better. Word is Ty Lue is a candidate and unsure how accurate this report it. But Chauncey Billups is tagging along wherever Ty Lue goes as an assistant (package deal). Curious what other candidates Sixers will be linked too.

Because people actually watch games? Not a hard concept to comprehend.
As I said, your team has $60M tied up between Al and Tobias. Not team is going to do well with those two making max.

the last times the 76ers were in the top 5 in blocks? 14-15 #4 with a record of 18-64, 15-16 #3 with a record of 10-72
never went to the Conference Finals
and a bench with no identity whatsoever, not even one that can run with the uptempo if they were given the challenge
produced 5 all stars as a whole in that past 7 years
you have to wonder what kind of horse shit he was feeding to the team, some type of "as long as you succeed outside of this glamorous professional athlete life, you'll have the same success on the basketball court"
sure, he was a preacher, just didn't seem to be preaching all that much basketball

Those contracts have nothing to do with Brett being fired. He didn't coach well prior to the deals. In fact he should have been fired a long time ago. It's funny you don't mention that. But you claim to watch the games lying ass kid. Annoying little shits. Josh Richardson said theres no accountability. Jimmy Butler didn't stay in Philly because of South Beach. He left because Brett Brown was non confrontational and had no idea what he was doing. Jimmy said he didn't know what they were doing each day/ Film sessions were awkward as no one talked, communicated. But somehow the 2 stupid contracts given were the issue not Brett. No coach is winning with that.
How about Brett Brown not being good at the x's and o's? Halfcourt sets were high school shit. Plays out of timeout were cringe worthy. His defensive philopsohy of switching everything was fine huh? Cov switch on Embiid man, Embiid take on Cov man. Makes sense for Embiid to defend a guard over your perimeter defender. Heck not even that one play in the boston series (not this year) Al Horford (ironic) scored an easy bucket over Covington as a result of the switch everything defensive strat Brett forced the Sixers to do. They don't switch, Horford chances of finishing over an Embiid are lessened. Lets get into this moronic rotations on who he plays, who doesn't play? Trey Burke is in Dallas getting buckets off the bench. Last year he couldn't even get off the bench. And when he did it was limited. I can go on and on but its common knowledge if you followed the Sixers. Uncommon to people like yourself. The fact you went directly to the two contracts as your only support to why Brett got a raw deal is hilarious.
You and others need to shut up. You weren't at games. You weren't watching games. You can look up Brett Brown coaching prior to Horford/Harris deals. It's always been a question. Before it was "Guys are injured, this is what he has to work with. They're not giving him talent.". He has talent and still doing the same shit.

Are you on your period, little girl? Go change your tampon.
My point is, the FO is beyond trash. Even with a shit coach, they could've done significantly better, given a competent FO. You think Brown is a terrible coach? Wait till Ty Lue takes over. He'll make Brown look like Pat.

essentially you're saying it's illegal or coaches don't ring chase.
here's an intellectual translation, which, in all honesty, with your IQ, might take you a few weeks: a sh*tty airline offering business class doesn't make them stupid, unless you have solid ground that the sh*tty airline should not exist, period.

Apparently the Nets are now interested in Gregg Popovich as head coach.
Brown is already tipped to re-join his mentor Pop as an assistant.
Considering Kyrie Irving's close relationship with Brett Brown this seems like a big possibility.
Apparently Lue, Darvin Ham and Jay Write are on top of the Sixers' list.
Former Spurs and current Philadelphia assistant Ime Udoka is a favorite to be hired by the Spurs if Pop leaves.

Reports are the Nets are trying to make him an offer he can't refuse.
