I definitely live in a different reality than you, in my reality it has meaning that China was running a coordinated dark social media campaign, starting in Italy just before their lockdowns, then moving across the West. At the same time that they were doing this covertly, publicly they were sending masks and other PPE to the countries who were locking down saying that China is with you and there to help.

Your argument that "most people think one way, so it has to be the right way" is the exact reason why someone would do a bot campaign like this, to say twitter trends and generate a picture of "this is what everyone is saying".

Combine these elements;

- "Everyone" on twitter says the same or is perceived that way, that you need to be really scared of this new virus.
- Everyone on the news saying the same, that you need to be really scared of this virus.
- Your favorite movie stars all saying the same, that you need to be really scared of this virus.
- Your favorite sports stars all saying the same, that you need to be really scared of this virus.

When all that happens at the same time, it's pretty hard to not be really scared of this virus.

You'll probably point to experts all saying this same thing as well, and that's a real conversation to be had. How could the Swedish CDC head do what he did compared to Fauci?
