how is a pass first player head and shoulders above everyone else with only one more playoff run than the second guy, and way less than 3-5? I guess Oscar wasn't lying when he said Lebron is in a league of his own, truly the undisputed goat. :applause:

By the time he is done, he might be 40k/10k/10k in total and 8k/3k/2k in the postseason. That's next level incredible. For reference, Magic Johnson is the only player with more than 2k assists and LeBron is already 6th all time in total rebounding.

I do wonder how many less points he would have scored if he wasn't playing so many best of 7s.
This is a stat that is irrelevant without context, as so many are.
But, I do believe he would have ended up on the top of the list anyways. It just wouldn't have been a 1,000 point gap.

Is the gap between #1 and #2 greater than the gap between #1 and #10, like the all-time PPG leaders?
I didn't think so
Lebron manufactured a career so he had high seeds for every playoff run, and therefore longer runs.. he never carried lottery teams to low seeds (failed in 04', 05', 19'), so he avoided short runs
How much more games though?

Many.
This is typical with LeBron... needed 9 finals appearances to get 3 rings.

For the people talking about how many games Lebron has played...it's not like his averages aren't elite AF still.
How many guys putting up 29/9/7 over 243 playoff games? Plenty of hall of famers produced much less over half as many games.

PPG is good to compare people during the same season (i.e. 2006 LeBron vs Iverson, etc).
TOTALS is what sports analysts use. When talking about Tom Brady's GOAT playoff #s (TD, Yards, Wins), no one asks but how many games doe? Get more playoff runs. Be better.
No one asks Babe Ruth how many games doe? For his 714 HR. Or Hank Aaron's 755 HRs. No one asks Jerry Rice the all time TD leader, "but how many games doe?" Because it's a quick and obvious way to admit defeat
If you didnt play as many playoff games, too bad. Ask why.

Ok, so Jordan played 60+ less Playoff games and won twice the amount of rings and was a scoring champ in RS + Playoffs in every single title run(averaged more ppg than Lebron as well, and peaked higher statistically), does Lebron's point total even put him on the same level as Jordan as a scorer? No. Jordan obliterates Lebron statistically and in titles, what's the argument here? Is Kareem the GOAT scorer because he's #1 all-time in scoring? No, no one's going to put Kareem as a scorer over MJ.
Tom Brady is viewed as the GOAT because he's won 6 Super Bowls with 6 game-winning drives. Terrible argument. Rings matter.

What? Lebron averaged 26 ppg in 2 out of his 3 title runs, Jordan's worst was 30.7 (which is still better than Lebron's best). Kobe next to Shaq in '01 and '02 averaged more ppg than Lebron in '13 & '16 Playoffs.

philly mikan
@DlONWAlTERS
Okay so LeBron has a higher FG%, 3P%, FT%, eFG%, and TS% than Jordan in the 4th Quarter of their Finals appearances, but somehow the narrative is that LeBron always shrinks while Jordan gets better.
FG%: 45.8 to 45.6
3P%: 30.3 to 14.8
FT%: 81.9 to 78.9
eFG%: 50.0 to 46.5
TS%: 55.1 to 54.1
Jordan did it on approximately 28 points/36, LeBron did it on approximately 26 points/36.
Also, I found out that if you take out the 2011 meltdown, LeBron's numbers jump up to 29 points/36 on 47 FG%, 51 eFG%, and 56 TS%. Which would be a clean sweep.

Context time!
Lebron played 244 playoff games
Jordan played 179
Lebron played 65 more games than Jordan
Jordan averaged 33.4 ppg in the playoffs
Multiply 65 with 33.4, and add onto Jordan's playoff total points, and you get 8,158 pts. 🤔🤔🤔

In the NFL you can't boost your playoff totals by losing, in the NBA you can. 30ppg in a sweep are 120 points, 25 in a 7 game series are 175 points.
Which team had the better series? Which player had the better scoring series?
