Do you know what PBUH stands for? You usually have better grammar, what's going on?

Are you mocking a sad event in the history of Islam?

Okay, you got me. I was making an innocent joke that I didnt think anyone would take personally.

Tbh it’s my fault for not having known better.

I will fast in repentance :(

In times like today, remember the bridge-building between communities that days like Ashura can bring or is it worth it to continue to divide communities

True.

I think too many people (not you, but in general politics) misunderstand the purpose of bridges.

The point of a bridge is usually to allow people to safely travel between two distinct places. Not to make two distinct places into the same place.

I think we should focus on the quality of traffic the bridge is used for. But some people, like ItsMillerTime, are obsessed with increasing the quantity withiut any standard.

To me thats weird. It feels more like a virtue signal. Sometimes things are naturally separate for a reason. Bridges help to create mutual productivity between communities. Not to hasten their coalescence.

Thats just my opinion.

PBUH

Very important date. We should all take some time to learn about the story of Moses/Musa (AS)

Piss be upon him. May he rest in piss.

He is God's Beloved (PBUH) and will be in Paradise/Heaven, and you have zero say or power in the matter.

If you want eternal happiness, follow his example.

See, now this part of it I can get behind.

That is the best part. You get to beat your wife, and if your daughters disrespect your honor, you can kill them. Why wouldn't you join a religion where you can beat and murder people and get away with it?? Sign me up!

I don't know anything about ashura but big fan of fasting .. not too long though .. anything extreme is bad but a nice, say, 18-20 hr fast works wonders .. you automatically look better, leaner, feel better etc

It's fasting from sunrise to sunset. It is a form of gratitude displayed to the creator. It goes back to Moses (pbuh) freeing the Israelites but also a date to examine your relationships.

In this time of conflict and division, examine whether we really want to continue with these conflicts, etc

I direct that to the Muslim brothers and sisters I direct them to be shukrun, I.e. grateful

Interesting. I've only ever heard the Shia version of what Ashura represents.
