Beating Portland? I don’t care if he would of dropped 50 it wouldn’t of been impressive against that defense. Don’t talk about Jordan anymore having weak competition if you’re gonna brag about a weak ass first round win.

Has Portland beaten us like, ever? Got Swept twice in the 1st round by the 3peat Shaq/Kobe team, and came close once, but ever since Kobe's Lob to Shaq they haven't recovered against us.

2020 Portland were a better team than the 1997 and 1998 Utah Jazz.

portland were nearly unstoppable in the bubble, 'most dangerous' 8th seed titled by multiple reporters and analysts. with how the lakers were playing in the bubble, people were voting for them to lose, lakers were the underdog this series. :oldlol:

The series hit a turning point in Game 3. Series tied 1-1, through the 3rd quarter the Lakers had an absurd FT differential... like 38-9 I remember it flashed on the screen. That's a rig. Portland was red hot from the field, up, and the refs wouldn't let them pull away. If they win that game, the series goes 6/7 and Dame guts it out. League screwed us here.

Come on, man. You're smarter than this. All Portland does is shoot jumpers. Of course they aren't going to have the same amount of free throws. Lebron and AD attacking all game, hmm, I wonder why the FTs are so different. Don't fall for this shit. FTs aren't egalitarian. "Yes, each time should get 30 FTs a piece." That's not how it works.

The Blazers were fouling like crazy. Dame had more FTs than most of the Lakers combined. The Blazers had no chance. Super short-handed. A lot of media-driven narrative brainwashing people. Blazers could barely beat the teams they did beat in the bubble. Many of the games were one or two possession games. Dame having to score 40 or more points just to do it, too. That's not impressive.

Everyone ate this shit up and now people are laughing like they should. Lakers are becoming an underappreciated 1st seed.

Nobody said that. But it shouldn't be absurdly lopsided either unless there's some hack a shaq shit going on, intentional fouls taken in the backcourt. Which there wasn't. Dame and CJ slash regularly... not as much as LBJ but that still doesn't explain a quadruple differential disadvantage. And that's not even counting the fact that Lebron dishes more contact than he recieves, yet they parade him and AD to the line all game to keep it close. A lot of people in the game thread agreed it was a rig, and thats just what it was.

When you put your opponent in the bonus with over half of a quarter left..... then you should expect for them to get more FTA.

Think AD had 7fta in less than 3mins into the game.
