In 2017 Stevens had the 1 seed and was down 0-2 and about to be upset by the 8 seed until Rondo got injured

You lose the plot when you say he is a "bottom 10 coach at best." That makes you seem like you are either an idiot or just trolling. Stevens might not be the best coach in the league and there are arguments to be made that he is overrated, but he is one of the top coaches in the league. There are 20 teams that would fire their coach tomorrow if it meant Brad Stevens would be their coach. Maybe more than that.

2nd round he is benching Enes and starting Robert Williams. Sounds like a smart coach to me, at least he makes adjustments and isn't stubborn. A guy like Bud doesn't adapt and make adjustments in the playoffs enough.

Yeah at this point in time Budenholzer and Stevens have similar resumes. Their career highlights are taking two teams to the conference finals. They both had homecourt advantage both times and both failed to reach the finals. Stevens is 4-8 in the conference finals while Bud is 2-8. I would give the edge to Stevens as he overachieved with both teams and Budenholzer overachieved with the 2015 Hawks, but underachieved with the Bucks last year.

Stevens has had one bad year coaching as far as failing to meet expectations which was of course last year. Otherwise if you are a Boston fan I don't know how you could be dissatisfied with him.

It definitely becomes clear over time when someone is inept in their role. Like a Donald Sterling in ownership or Mike Woodson coaching. But fans nitpicking over little decisions in a given game or series when they don't have 1/15 the information about the circumstance that the coach does... always rings hollow.

It's not like the Celtics have underachieved. They've done pretty much what you'd expect given their age/roster. The real key will be over the next 2-3 years when a lot of their young guys start hitting that age where they're really hungry for a chip and not just to prove themselves as individuals.

Boston fan here.. Brad Stevens is a very good tactical coach.. also a Player's coach.. which isn't always a good thing.. He gets a ton a Hype because he is a young baby faced coach who came straight out of Butler.. He is everyone's darling..
