English was their best player in the 80's. The Nuggets were pretty awful during the 90's. Dikembe might be their best player by default. It is actually a very good player comparison and both have very similar resumes. Both were great scorers, but had flaws in other aspects of their games. Both went to the all star game pretty much every year. Both made the playoffs regularly, but failed to do much while they were there. Neither player made the finals, but both players made the conference finals once and each losing to the lakers in that conference finals. If you look at stats and accomplishments, they are close to the same. I might give the slight edge to English, but it is close. He won just a little bit more in the playoffs and as much as I like Melo, the 07-08 team underachieved. That team had real talent and should have done better. With him as the leader he takes responsibility for them not being better.
