View Full Version : LeBron took 80 shots this series, zero from mid range
Like i said many times, doesn't play with true scoring responsibility for a guy of his stature. Always leaving the difficult shots to his superstar teammates, dump the ball to AD or Kyrie for a 1 on 1 where they have to pull out all types of tricks and shots, no passing up shots when they see an inch of space unlike the way lebron plays, "mister efficient".
Doesn't that bother you bronsexual sometimes, just sometimes during games? I know, great stats and 3 eastern conference superteam rings in 17 prime seasons. (only needs 1 more ring to be goat right bronstans? lol) I said the same about giannis.

Not surprised with the stat, he showed some flashes of mid-range game from like 13-18 but he's either shot it poorly or completely evaded that shot for the majority of his career, and it makes sense based on the analytics. It's never been his strength, he's showed out in a couple games but that's when they're consistently leaving him wide open (2012 ECF, 2013 Finals for example). When you look at his Playoffs career, he's 35% from 10-16 ft and 37.8% on long 2s, there are very few runs where he's actually been efficient from mid-range. You can't compare him to Kobe, who shot 44.5% from 10-16 ft and 40.2% on long 2s for his Playoffs career (at a much higher volume), that's not Lebron's strength.

Why would he shoot those when he doesn't have to? To please you and Skip Bayless? What's he better at? What does the team expect of him? To just jack up shots from 17 feet? At least think about it before making these kind of threads. Not like he hasn't pulled them out in big moments before. Do you even watch basketball let alone understand it? I don't even see your point unless it's LeBron doesn't take difficult shots in crunch time? That's Skip Bayless level rhetoric. The point of Lakers signing Davis was to teach him to learn how to win and take over going forward into the future anyway, not that I think your hints/grasping at straws are nothing more than incoherent inflammatory nonsense as usual.

I asked some of you guys who been following him and hanging on his ******* the past 17 years if that crap doesn't bother you guys sometimes and if it doesn't worry you a little since he's still competing and has to go up against the rockets and maybe Kawhi. So giannis and other superstars get killed for not having a jumper or other type of weakness everyone loves to bring up, but lebron "the best" who's better at bringing in superstar teammates doesn't need a jumper because he can dump it? I dont know. Not everyone needs a dope mid range. Shaq didn't have one. Magic had a dope post and short mid with the hook shot but he didn't have a crazy mid. Yeah it can definitely limit you a bit in certain situations like half court slowed down games but as long you have the right supporting cast its not a huge issue. Bron has had wade and kyrie for those situations and now he has ad.
And its not like bron dosn't contribute in other ways like defense, rebounds and passing. In 16 he needed kyrie to score in iso down the stretch when he was struggling a bit but that block he had on iggy was huge.
Sure its ideal to have all of that plus a great mid like mj but mj is considered the best ever by most for a reason. Nothing wrong with being right behind him.

I know, i hope for the lakers that 3 ball keeps working for him in the future.
And no your idol never had a reliable jumper liar, he shot more, but he stopped doing it because he started playing of fg% game later on untill he became clueless in the finals when they started giving him space to shoot. Wish he went more to his early days, but he pretty much stopped developing that part of his game, there's still too much thinking going on before pulling up. He still has those games but zero midrange jumpers this series? He's going to need it against kawhi in 1 on 1 situations don't you think.

Call someone a retard & then lie about over 50% of Lebron's shots coming from mid-range in those seasons... He did shoot long 2s at a high volume, but only 26-27% of them came from that range in his best years w/ 6 & 7% from 10-16 ft, so how did he ever come close to 50% FGA from mid-range exactly? Players have different styles to their games. Michael Jordan was great and for much of his career he was an absolutely dreadful 3 point shooter. It doesn't diminish his greatness even though it is a far more valid criticism as a player than this thread.

Players weren't jacking up lazy threes back then, mj would've easily been a better 3 point shooter in this era. The difference is he dominated like no other, no true weaknesses and won 6 out of effin 6. Nobody was asking mj to shoot three pointers during his finals runs.. meanwhile i remember everyone screaming 'just take the effin jumper' during all of his 6 finals losses, including me. However OP's point I guess is that Lebron is not a good midrange jumpshooter...which is true and a legit criticism of his scoring ability.
Lebron is a dominant scorer but he is more of a "spammer" (i.e dominant at a few ways of scoring), and not a true blue, elite scorer like a KD or Kawhi who scorer everywhere at a good to elite level (including free throws).

Don’t care really. Lebrons scoring isn’t elite now but his strength now is his passing which is better than ever. You’re assuming that playing like mj and Kobe is the best way to dominate and I would ask what makes that way the “best” way to dominate.
It’s not hard to argue a teammate shooting an open shot especially a 3 is usually better than a contested shot from a star. Also I point that magic had no problem dominating with passing and won 5 rings in 12 seasons, that style can win

Forget MJ and Kobe, i'm just asking for a couple more jumpshots maybe, like a karl malone or hakeem? Kawhi had to start from zero too, look at him now, can't fault him for much, absolute monster to have on your team, no tailor made ballhandling system for big numbers, performs all the time, great passer out the double teams too and that's good enough, wheter he wins or loses. All they have on him is sitting out games.
Lebron isn't magic, that's why magic was so respected, 5 rings, 9 finals trips in 11 seasons. If he had a jumper i believe he would've been even higher on people's lists than he already is, imagine that. But lebron is nowhere near the natural PG, passer or leader that Magic was. Lebron is a "pg" but meanwhile people kill giannis or simmons who are the main ball handlers for having no jumper. Lebron's lack of a reliable jumper without thinking too much has proven to be an issue on the biggest stage. I'm not just making this stuff up but you can disagree.

Being good and the main ball handler in your tailor made system can do wonders for your numbers. Ask old ass 2x mvp steve nash, or second year Doncic.

Yeah, Doncic has many holes in his scoring game(FT & 3PT shooting, less than 10% of his shots came from mid-range this season), but the guy had no trouble scoring against the best perimeter defenders in the league. Today's rules just make it way too easy.

no you're not making it up but his 3 is pretty good right now and is a threat to defenses. nothing great but 35% from 3 on a decent amount of attempts is definitely passable. simmons doesnt even compare since his jumper is nonexistent and giannis still isnt worrying anyone taking 3's or midranges. you also overestimate how much kawhi goes old school and posts up, he posts up as often bron right now maybe scores 2-2.5 times a game. His game is now heavy pnr and isolation with shooters around and he usually goes with a pull up when he takes jumpers. also doesnt come open off screens that much, that's george's role on the clippers. the system isnt as "bron centric" but it is absolutely built around him as a main ball handler.
so 5 rings means you're super respected but 3 rings doesnt deserve any respect that doesnt make sense. I would say the jumper is a flaw of his game but only cost him once maybe twice. 2011 is obvious and maybe 2015. I would say compared to current guys 2015 is a special case and doesnt really matter because i dont think anyone right now is capable of just not resting like bron did and he barely had competent players to pass to. kawhi's flaw is his health and ofc giannis doesnt seem like he can even play 35mpg right now. his jumper was not an issue vs gs other years or the spurs in 2014.

Fair enough, but i didn't say lebron's 3 rings isn't respectable, it's just you guys that put him on a serious pedestal that i don't agree with anyway. And i shouldn't have mentioned Kawhi when talking about lebron's issue with pulling up for a damn jumper, two different worlds.. lebron's issue is pretty extreme in my eyes. This, Kawhi isn’t good at passing period
He's average. Not terrible but average. I find it so pathetic the way the media and know nothing "fans" are trying to make out as if KL and GA are elite play makers all of a sudden. If they are elite the skill levels of "play makers" have significantly dropped, LeBron excluded of course. Just running the ball up the court sometimes and occasionally getting an assist in the midst of play doesn't mean you're a play maker, period.

Funny how you mention James weak competition in the East... but no mention of what a joke of a conference the West was in the 80's. Magic getting 1st round byes, 3gm series', beating 3 teams in the postseason with a combined record of 118-128 to get to the Finals and the garbage division he played in.

5>3, magic won 5 out 9 in 11 seasons with the team that drafted him, lebron 3 in 17 years. Also better player.

Not even remotely close. LeBron is a better player than Magic and that's a fact. I know you're 12, so let me educate you. You cry about LeBron playing 40 win teams in the first round, and the '87 Lakers were playing a 37 win team in the WCF. Magic's teams were stacked AF as well.
As for the OP, who gives a shit, as long as he scores. Again, you're like 12, so go watch some clips of Shaq and have the same energy about how Shaq should've take more contested mid range jumpshots.

Who's crying about lebron's competition? He went ringchasing like no superstar in their primes ever did. Sure you can have an argument about which era was worse, 80s west or East for the last 20 years. But 5>3. Also 5/9 with 1 team in 11 seasons>3/9 in 17 seasons. Better natural pg, passer and leader. You can disagree but stop being so mad all the time.

You're a brick turd, aren't you? Dude got to play with a top 5 GOAT who was in his prime/peak for the first 8 seasons of his career. Two seasons he did not have a good team, he bitched and cried until he got another stacked AF team.
Lets have this conversation when LeBron plays a 39 win team in the Conference Finals or when he gets to play with a top 3 GOAT like KAJ. LeBron is also a significantly better scorer and defender. It's not even close. "Better natural pg, passer and leader." Same can be said for Magic vs MJ. You're gonna say that Magic > MJ?
LeBron is a top 2-3 GOAT and that's a universal FACT. No matter how much you cry into your pillow, it won't change, you obese retard.

Poor lebron needs more help and more seasons to catch up to what magic did in 11 years and mj in 13.
I don't know who you think is better between MJ and Magic But jordan does everything better than lebron on a basketball court, and lebron's strongests points like "sharing" the ball and dribbling and "iq" and "leadership".. magic did it better. Better players and better winners.

I guess Hondo, Jones, etc. shit on Magic and MJ, considering the fact that they have more rings than them. Is that how this works?

WTF are you babbling about? So, MJ is better than LeBron at everything (which is not even remotely true), but Magic has a higher IQ and playmaking skills than LeBron? Are you sure you weren't dropped on your head frequently as a kid?
Again, Magic is a better playmaker. Not going to argue that, but LeBron is a significantly better scorer and defender than Magic. It's not even a debate.
Finally, going by your autistic argument, Magic has higher IQ, leadership, "sharing" (wtf), etc. than Jordan, so Magic > MJ?
Stick to eating glue, kid.

No imo it's about visible greatness, rings and stats to a certain point. Something like that.

MJ is better than lebron at everything besides maybe passing and def rebounding.
Magic is a better playmaker, passer, winner and has higher bball iq than lebron.
Magic is a better passer, playmaker than Jordan.
Lebron better defender than magic. Scoring about the same, magic had his little hookshot, could post up and score, shoot the three.
But that's just my opinion, straight from the gut. I know you're probably gonna get mad at me.

I love how kawhi plays, dude has GAME. No politics, maybe the reason why he might tie lebron's ring count in 10 less years. (LeBrOn NeEdS 1 mOrE rInG fOr GoAt)
We really trying to pretend that Kawhi's rings weren't from beating up on an old ass Wade with the Spurs dynasty. And his most recent one wasn't against one of the most injury depleted squads ever.. while being on the #1 seeded Raptors..?

Well Kawhi lacks court vision. He is a shoot first player, which he should be. He’s like the perfect player though if he worked on his passing

No imo it's about visible greatness, rings and stats to a certain point. Something like that.
So, according to your criteria, you should have LeBron as the #2 GOAT. Dude has the accolades, stats, etc.. EVERYTHING.
MJ is better than lebron at everything besides maybe passing and def rebounding.
LeBron is a much better playmaker and has a higher IQ than Ordan. That should make him better than Ordan, right? At least according to your criteria.
Magic is a better playmaker, passer, winner and has higher bball iq than lebron.
LeBron is a better shooter, defender, scorer, and has a significantly better floor raising capability than Magic.
Magic is a better passer, playmaker than Jordan.
Yeah, no shit, you stupid ****. Not even close either :oldlol:
Lebron better defender than magic.
Yes. LeBron is at an 8 when it comes to defense and Magic is around a 5.
Scoring about the same, magic had his little hookshot, could post up and score, shoot the three.
Nah, not even close. LeBron is considered to be a GOAT level playmaker and that's his best talent, but he's 3rd all time in scoring in the RS. #1 in the PO's by a significant margin.
But that's just my opinion, straight from the gut. I know you're probably gonna get mad at me.
Just gonna try to teach your autistic 12 year old dumbass the facts about basketball. That's it. You're actually on Ashfan and AirRetard levels of intelligence right now (or the lack of it).

THE dumbest dude on this forum. I said, visible greatness.. NO. Rings.. other atg's have more. Stats.. yes. Clearly not a goat in my eyes.
LeBron is a much better playmaker and has a higher IQ than Ordan. That should make him better than Ordan, right? At least according to your criteria.
Right right? dumbass lol. Why would he have higher IQ than MJ?? Overrated playmaker, he play-makes because he can't do anything else idiot. MJ averaged triple doubles when he wanted to. He chose for winning and true responsibility.
LeBron is a better shooter, defender, scorer, and has a significantly better floor raising capability than Magic.
Not better shooter, takes more lazy threes, different era. Not a better scorer i said you idiot. Floor raising capability??? :oldlol:
Yeah, no shit, you stupid ****. Not even close either :oldlol:
Overrated playmaker, because he has no jumper and has zero moves, has to play that position, dribble dribble. Slightly better passer but since MJ does literally everything else better on the court, i wouldn't be so cocky about that loser
Yes. LeBron is at an 8 when it comes to defense and Magic is around a 5.
LMAO! no no let's give him a 10 better! For real tho saying lebron is a better defender than magic is like saying lebron better defender than steve nash. Dummy.
Nah, not even close. LeBron is considered to be a GOAT level playmaker and that's his best talent, but he's 3rd all time in scoring in the RS. #1 in the PO's by a significant margin.

No point in trying to waste my time with idiots like you, who don't even know the difference between a fact and an opinion. Lets not forget that you little ***** get your panties in a bunch whenever anyone owns your dumbasses with FACTS and STATS. Literally EVERY single moronic and asinine argument of yours can be eviscerated with FACTS and STATS. "but but facts hurt my feelings!!!1".

I think there's some truth in this idea, but LeBron absolutely shoots and makes difficult midrange shots in all of his great playoff runs. His fadeaway jumper can be lethal. He can make floaters and pull up threes and get dunks, etc. I think he's fallen off a bit as a scorer but that doesn't mean it's always been that way. LeBron is one of the greatest scorers of all time and I'd say maybe the second best playoff scorer of all time based on volume and efficiency.
