A trio of Democratic lawmakers introduced legislation Thursday that would label racism as a nationwide public health crisis.

The bill, titled the Anti-Racism in Public Health Act, was created by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Reps. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) and Barbara Lee (D-Calif.).

If passed, the bicameral proposal would establish two new wings within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): The National Center for Anti-Racism and the Law Enforcement Violence Prevention Program within the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control at the federal agency.

"It is time we start treating structural racism like we would treat any other public health problem or disease: investing in research into its symptoms and causes and finding ways to mitigate its effects," Warren said. "My bill with Representatives Lee and Pressley is a first step to create anti-racist federal health policy that studies and addresses disparities in health outcomes at their roots."

No doubt we all agree with senator pocahontas that its about damn time we start treating racism like any other public health problem or disease

These guys have daily contests to see who can be the most crazy. They always somehow manage to outdo themselves too. Like what does this shit even mean? It’s a bunch of nonsense. When will people wise up to this insincere pandering? They spend way more time pretending and acting then actually doing meaningful things.

Where is this racism that everyone speaks of? I don't see it. I look outside my window and I see all sorts of people from different walks of life walking around minding their own business.

What these people want to become now is the thought police and take away your first amendment rights. If somebody chooses to hate and be a bigot, that's their own problem.

This was the basis of the argument many on the right were making when Trump was declaring a national emergency to bypass congress. Was it Rand Paul? Cant remember for sure. But one of them said "You cant set this precedent because the next democrat president will use it".

"Investing into research..." lol

power/money laundering scheme, as usual

i suppose i'll need to design a study to obtain the desired outcomes, but I'd be willing to accept a few billion dollars of 'investment' to do some 'research' into 'racism'

Do you think racism should be made a public health crisis?

Do you care that all these wealthy career bureaucrats who work and live in exclusive company, and donate virtually nothing to charity, pander shamelessly to you like a helpless child simply because youre black? Knowing they just want you to stay pacified and entrusting, while kept under the thumb of their mega donors? Do you care that their propaganda arms in the media wont acknowledge dissenting or differing black voices, because they only want you to hear a message of fear and dependence? Does it bother you that black people as a collective are being conned and used as pawns for the benefit of a very small few at the top?

It’s an aside from the thread topic but Im genuinely curious if that vexes you on a general level or if you simply dont really care.

Personally I feel like I’d find it utterly insulting, then again Im sure there are a lot of white folks who would buy into the hype and take the bait if the shoe were on the other foot.

Im curious how you feel about the obvious pandering thats being done to keep you voting for the same massas over and over.
