Rose put up a good fight with 27 of his own per game and winning the #1 seed and MVP the next year.

Yeah he is certainly the best playoff performer of the last 20 years and there really isn't a close second. There are players in isolation who have done things as special, but not as consistently year after year. Even his 2010 series against Boston where he did have a horrid game 5, he still dropped 27/9/7 and was by far the best player in the series while carrying a garbage team.
