Peaked as a bottom 10 player for a couple seasons. Thats about it.
Derrick Rose was better at his peak.

He is so bad. Never gonna watch another basketball game he plays in. He is a disgrace. It used to be funny at times but I can’t take it anymore.

Do you mean top 10 or are you so gone that you think his peak was being a bottom 10 player in the league?

Guys.
We all know he's playing like ass. We all know he's had some version of this in him through his career, but he's been a great player for much of his career as well.
He's a 25/7/8 player in the playoffs for his career to date. He's played a lot of games. Yes, his efficiency isn't great...but he's always brought a lot to the table. To pretend like this is the player he's always been is just revisionist history at its worst.

Ok.
I'd say being a top 10 or so player in the league for multiple years is pretty good.
Also, peak Rose put up that great series of 23/4/7 44%TS with a 93 ortg.
Again, how quickly we forget...

Well, if you cut all those out and only focus on his deeper runs...
He's a 25/6/8 52% TS player.
:confusedshrug:
Again, how he's played the last few years has been really bad...I don't think there is an argument there, but he had some great playoff play in his career that shouldn't get ignored solely because of his current play.

Peak Rose was a one man show on offense. No KD or Harden beside him. He didnt even have a Playoff P:oldlol:
Was evident when they were a top 10 offense his MVP year, top 5 the next year. Then after his injury dropped all the way to 23rd

Hahah! Westbrook is a hot/cold dude for sure. I do like him always attacking. But he could have some really bad games and take bad shots. But you could never question his passion. He kind'a always been like this. Not very efficient.

You are going to come up with excuses for every other player and grade on different standards because you don't like Russ.
But even if I agreed that Rose was better. What do you think that proves? That an MVP winning top 5 or so player in the league being better than Russ is somehow proof that Russ isn't good? I don't follow...
Again, if the focus is just on his play post 2017...you won't get much of an argument from me. It is when you guys go on acting like he was never a great player that never did special things. Go back and watch some of his games...hell, I think someone just made a thread with some of them today. Go watch those and tell me he's not going to be a first ballot hall of famer.

Yup. This is who he has ALWAYS been. Right down to the porous defense.

So, just to be clear...this is about how good he's always been...and you think his defense has never been good, actually bad.
So I'm assuming you don't think he should make the HOF at all...right? He's not good enough.

Im talking about his deficiencies. He was obviously better in the past. But his IQ was always low.
And his defense def was never good. He was always a roamer due to how dumb he was and even then got burned alot.

Yup. People don't realize there are many HOF that were not, or arguably were not, top 10 for a single season. Being top 10 perennially in your prime is nothing to sneeze at and at his best people considered him top 5. There was some chatter about KD and Westbrook being #2 and #3 in the league behind LeBron at one point.
Also, peak Rose put up that great series of 23/4/7 44%TS with a 93 ortg.
Yup--you can find clunkers for any legend if you cherry pick their worst.

He has been in the finals and in the WCF three times and may get there again this year...

Westbrook looked legitimately afraid to drive to the basket out of fear of getting his shit swatted by LeBron, hence why he took so many 3s in game 2 :lol

It's a shame, he was playing some of his best basketball to start off 2020.. then Covid hit, 4.5 month break from basketball, then he got injured in the bubble and has only been back for a few games. I imagine rust is a huge factor in why he looks so sloppy.

You're talking to the wrong guy. Hammy is a massive KD stan, and he has been on relentless mission to shit on Westbrick ever since KD left OKC. Why? Because he needs to justify that KD not winning a title in Oklahoma is all Westbrook's fault, not KD's. If the Rockets manage to win a title this year, the guy is going to have an absolute meltdown here on ISH because of it.
This entire topic is made because of that reason.
