That will sell better than the Switch for 2 months at the most, presuming Microsoft decides to reveal their awful hardware sales at any point :lol

You can make memes for both systems. In the end, most people aren't going to care about what they look like, but the exclusives and gaming experience.

Smart move Microsoft...
I wonder how this works though, do they have different games for the S vs the X since one has an optical drive vs the other doesnt?
I'm prob not going to get a console anyways since I havent bought one since the PS2 but 299 is pretty tempting just to have for a rainy day.

Since it doesn't have an optical drive, it will just be a software download which means it can be the same as the X series, just that the settings would be different. Kind of like a PC game, you buy it and set the settings according to the hardware of your PC.
Or they can be greedy bastards and sell a S and X version of the game, limiting you to your hardware. So if you buy the S version, good luck if you ever upgrade to am X console. (This is probably the route they will go).

They have the same games, think high end PC and low end PC for it

Yeah it’ll support next gen games, just medium settings w/o RTX and higher fidelity

No that I think about it this is not bad
The performance is basically the same as the series X but the resolution is only slightly lower (1440p) at a bargain price
A shame Xbox don't have any enticing exclusives compared to Sony

Xbox Series X launches Nov 10 for $499. Pre orders start Sep 22nd (https://www.xbox.com/en-US/consoles/xbox-series-x?xr=shellnav)
I'll guess PS5 will be $449 digital - $499 disc drive

Yeah it's perfect for families on a budget
Series X and PS5 after games, +conroller, +tax will run over $700 this holiday. Many will wait, but most can do $300-$400

On a serious notes and people bashing it...it'll sell well I think. Parents and grandparents and so-on will go out to buy gifts for their loved ones and see teh $299 price tag and get it. It'll put out the same performance as the Series X, except it won't be 4K, it'll be 1440p, which for tons of people is fine.
I still plan on getting a PS5, but I'm waiting until the beginning of the year. See some reviews come in and comparisons.

Only gaming enthusiasts will buy another controller, but yeah 500 + everything else will rack up big time. Esp during covid year.
That pricing is kinda intriguing
Yeah keep shitting on it but you broke boys gonna be the first to pre-order
