Happiness is definitely better than misery.

I've been miserable lately due to COVID. For the most part I am a very social person but the lockdown has sort of made me depressed. We can't do what we want and everyone is wearing a mask. The California fires are depressing as the state is burning down and I am very frustrated. Then you have people calling me to pay bills but we can't work and we have a crap governor. So I believe I am in a state of depression.

Honestly covid has messed with my head man. It sucks outright to be forced to be locked in and keep a distance. Thats just bad for anyone...

Lockdown is messing up with everyone and especially kids. Kids are social creatures and they can't go to school which leads to a lot of depression. They tell us to wear our mask and shut up. People need to revolt.

The thing is IMO, happiness is not a state anyone can sustain naturally. We’re not wired to be feeling bliss and contentment at all times. If you find yourself in that position your circumstances are extremely fortunate.

The thing that keeps people going is motivation. If youre motivated by/for something, you’ll achieve progress goals along the way and that should bring periodic moments of happiness. Which is generally the best we can hope for.

You absolutely can train yourself to be in a positive mind state for the vast majority of your life...it is a difficult thing to master though, takes meditation, calmness, and advanced coping skills, ridding yourself of any negative surroundings, etc...I'm not there yet but working toward it. I know people who are seemingly always 'upbeat' and positive...and I know people who are always negative twats.

Most people think that happiness is something that happens to you, but it's not...it's a choice. We choose to positive or negative.

Do you think shaving your beard off might help?

I am not the type to depend on anybody. People are not under any obligation to behave a certain way around me. I also cut myself plenty of slack.

I am happy.

Yes, life is going well for me right now

But I was suffering from severe depression & anxiety for the better part of the last decade and was around 250 pounds at one point and I never left my home. But I am in a way better place now

I'm probably the most easy going happy person you'll ever meet IRL. This site I use to vent and put into practice what I'd second guess to discuss IRL.

I'm a very grateful person.

I smile a lot IRL, so I say yeah, generally happy IRL.

I think I'm not happy that much probably because I'm still single

There are other factors (non marriage related) you can work on to improve your happiness.

Do you have a clear cut purpose in life/spirituality/religion?
Do you eat/exercise healthy?
Do you have a group of close friends?

when they ask you how you are and you just have to say that you're fine, when you're not really fine, but you just can't get into it because they would never understand.

Im generally happy. I vent on the net to blow steam but im pretty chill.

Sex with beautiful girls makes me happiest. If we fall in love, even better.

Mean people suck. I don't hang around negative people anymore.

I think alot of people are unhappy because you're raised to believe you're a snowflake winning your 5th placed sports ribbons in school and getting praise for going from the 4th grade to the 5th. "Ohhh you got a B+ on your Math test, have a cookie!" Then you're an adult in the real world and soon realize nobody knows or gives a f.uck about you unless you're one of the small amount of people in this world with some kind of innate special gift or ability( singing, acting, athlete etc). Come to terms with that and accept that in a life that has no meaning, it's on you to give yourself the value and purpose to your own existence. The 'unhappiness' comes because most people have an idealized version of themselves that is far from what they actually are, leaving you in a perpetual state of feeling like something is missing.

Had some dark days back about 2010 to 2012....but have grown so much, worked on myself so much and am a happy and thankful irl person.

Especially with so many going through tough times this year, I still have a great job, love working from home, live with an amazing gf - soon to be fiance, have great family and friends, home gym, health...really am thankful for everything.

Yeah I spout a lot of Bron bullshit on here, but basketball and sport doesn't define who I am in 2020...not even close.

Love a positive life...genuine positivity...not the toxic version
