President Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for helping broker a peace deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, according to a report.

Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian Parliament and chairman of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, submitted the nomination, Fox News reported.

“For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees,” Tybring-Gjedde told Fox News.

In his letter to the Nobel Committee, Tybring-Gjedde wrote that the Trump administration has played a key role in the establishment of relations between the two nations.

“As it is expected other Middle Eastern countries will follow in the footsteps of the UAE, this agreement could be a game-changer that will turn the Middle East into a region of cooperation and prosperity,” he wrote, Fox News reported.

If Trump wins re-election and wins this Peace Prize, I think he will go down as being the most prestigious and most popular human being in the last 100 years. What an extraordinary life he would have led to that point. Amazing.

He most definitely has done more for peace than any other candidate who is or will be nominated but they would not pick him even if he was able to get an Israel/Palestine peace agreement. His moves also would have led to war with Iran, but they backed down, publicly admitting to not wanting a war. He ran operations in Syria and Iraq, also causing a troop build up in 2018. The drone strikes program from Obama that Republicans were trashing nonstop has continued under Trump. Trump is no saint, that's all I'm saying.

Michael O'Hanlon, a defense analyst at the Brookings Institution, noted that the top Pentagon officials — McConville, Defense Secretary Mark Esper and Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff — were Trump appointees.

"Even by Trump's standards, this blame the military approach is bizarre," O'Hanlon said. "It did not launch the Iraq or Afghanistan wars or anything else like that: The civilians made those calls.
