In today's NBA LeBron/ Davis is the way to go. In the early 2000s its a pretty close matchup imo. Shaq and Kobe did win 3 championships though so it's a proven winning recipe. But I could also see prime LeBron / Davis do that too if they were swapped on that early 2000s Lakers squad.

I'd say Shaq&Kobe were a lot more entertaining. They had better teammates though. As for results... we have to wait and see bet Shaq&Kobe are proven.

Also, bringing 2020 vs. 2002 into account.. Kobe would have a much easier time now. Shaq about the same. As of now I can't see what advantage would current Lebron&AD have in 2002.
