Probably there is a decent amount of blame to throw around, from my extremely brief googling around the root looks to be pedo French producers, and I am assuming something like this is easier to push around there, they don't really view sex as a 'thing' there...nudity and sex is spread around for all to see out in public, on billboards, everywhere. It isn't hidden from children and generally just seen as a casual thing.

I've been to France four times, living with a French family one of those times. While it's different, it's not exactly an open pedo paradise.

Again, the movie might be French, but it's pushed in the US as well and receiving glowing remarks from the US MSM. Someone made a conscious decision to take this movie, decide to slap the name on there for the English speaking market and produce subtitles so everyone outside of France can understand the movie.
You always just find a way to excuse it and say no big deal, like when you assumed that Black Lives Matter on the NBA court would only be for the first couple of games when the season picked up again.

I have no doubt Trump likes em young, and would just as soon move the age of consent down a couple years if it were up to him. But frankly I don't think that's even considered much of an outlier.

The issue with violence is that it's typically something impressionable on young kids. So theres a rating system that should in theory prevent kids from watching. Will people 18-24 still be vulnerable to the glorification of violence? Sure. And that is a different discussion.

This isnt a film about the pitfalls and destruction of the industry. Again, read the plot of the movie. The young girl ultimately triumphs over her conservative family’s warnings and values, and the feel-good denoument is when she breaks free and joins her friends for a pre-teen twerk fest as happy music plays.

This movie is celebrating child sexuality. The content itself is the proof. A Netflix orchestrated PR-spin in response to controversy, where they say the opposite of what everyone can clearly see, means nothing. I could push someone off a roof and claim it was well intended. well... the artist is basically guilty, you can't glorify & condemn something at the same time.... at the end of the day sin & controversy is what sells... so if the entertainment industry keeps pushing that envelope, eventually we find ourselves normalizing the things that should be disturbing.

As I've gotten older... I've damn near completely detached myself from horror films. Movies like Saw, Hostile, Chainsaw Massacre should not be your Friday Night entertainment... but that genre is going to keep pushing the envelope with the most grotesque images they can deliver, and while we pass it off as entertainment... it's still has a desensitizing effect.

Never subscribed to Netflix. Rarely use Amazon. I watch a lot of Youtube, and a premium account would be well worth the few bucks a month for me, but I skip it and put up with commercials to limit my support of Google. Stopped watching the Disney basketball playoffs even though I actually wanted to see some of the games.

I also started a competing business based on intelligent ideas, the leverage of consumers etc. Tho most of the people with the same complaints as me, but lower IQs, just mocked it, ignored it etc.

I've also tried to get my neighbors involved in things, but met the same futility.

Trust me I do what I can in an individual capacity, and I've tried to make improvements on bigger levels... but at that point it becomes dependent on more people's participation. In reality tho the public just isn't built the way I'm built.
