I don't think so. They probably got eliminated in the 2nd round. LeBron is just a better player than Kawhi. I don't think Kawhi is good enough to carry Kevin Love in the nba finals.

They choked because Lebron was awesome and intimidated the hell out of them. He was literally telling their players what plays to run and where to be. Kawhi wouldn't lead the Cavs over them. 34/8/11 on 55% shooting. To be fair, Kevin Love did actually play like an all star that series. That might have been his best playoff series he ever played in.

yea lebron has some intangibles but the cavs just shot lights out that series. think green/jr/korver were combined like 60% from 3. and no one on tor played well besides like lowry and anunoby vs an awful defense

Are we still in 2018 OP? No? 2020 right?

Nobody is compared 2020 Kawhi to 2018 Lebron.

We are comparing 2020 Kawhi to 2020 Lebron.

Nope. Kawhi and Durant are great at getting buckets, but they’re limited when it comes to creating easy shots for their teammates or controlling the tempo of a game. The media and fans love watching great iso scoring, but I never get caught up with it. I know deep down, old-man LeBron is still simply a better all-around player than those two guys. Durant or Kawhi need to put up 30+ points in order for them to have a huge overall impact in a game, whereas, LeBron can have an off scoring game and still dissect your team with his playmaking and tempo-controlling.

No way they get to the Finals.

Like he's not that guy.. at all.. and we're gonna see him choke a 3-1 lead to the ****ing nuggets in the 2nd rnd, with by far the most stacked team in the league

+1

LeBron's teammates in the 2018 1st round was as bad as it will ever be for a winning player. I would bet that you won't ever see a carry job of that magnitude based on GameScore output alone. Oladipo's #6 highest Game Score matched Kevin Love (#2 for LBJ). It was a very bad showing for the Cavs. If you sort his #2, #3, #4, #5 option by FGA it shows that the highest FG% of all of them is .378. Let that sink in

So then Options 2-5 based on FGA never shot above .378% and Options 2-5 combined less Game score than LeBron alone. It was an impossible series but L.J. pulled it off.

Kawhi just won a title with a similar tier team.

Lowry = Kevin Love

Trashcal = Jr Smith

Van Vleet = George Hill

How did those similar tier teams do the season after each player left?

Kevin Love only played 22 games and cavs had a much worse coach. Put Kevin Love with a coach like Rick Adelman and throw them out in the east conference, you'll get your 45-50 wins. Not going to beat anybody in playoffs, just like 2020 Raptors.

Good question. Upon swift review the Raptors were one or two shots away from another ECF and the Cavs were a lottery failure of a "team"

Yeah and I was a scratch away from winning the billion dollar lottery. Winning is winning and losing is losing, especially when Celtics were short handed without Hayward.

Put Kawhi on a bad team and that team will still be bad.

He can only elevate a team a few places. He doesnt have the talent to elevate a team from worst to first.

Someone forgot to remember that the raptors went with 51 wins in their first 70 games of this season without klaw unlike in their championship season when they only won 49 of their first 70.

:roll:

The Raptors were the 1st seed, 3rd seed and the 2nd seed in the years before he showed up.
The Raptors won 59 ,51 and 56 games in the years before he showed up.
The 1st seed and 59 games won the previous year Raptors replaced Derozan and Valančiūnas with Kawhi, Gasol and Green aft.

"comparable cast"

Just remember that LeBron never sat out an entire year to request a trade and then demand to get traded to a 59 win 1st seed team who got rid of its weakest links and then the strongest part of their team.

Good point, he can take a 60 win team to Finals. But at this point which top 10 players cant do it. Kawhi has limited boost. Bron has maximum boost.

Lol the klaw didn't even want to play for toronto so am not sure where this comes from. Tho yes he did requested to be traded away two years ago.
