View Full Version : The Clipper curse

This happened a few times through the decades.

In 06, the Suns went 7 games with the Clips. Similar to the Lakers in the first round. Tho they weren't expected to win the series, they end up losing. Lost in the second round.

When cp3 went to the Clips, teams kind'a some respeck on their name except for Laker fans.

In 14, they went six games with the Thunder. While the thunder showed they were a better team, the Clips had section where they had the game under control and it just slipped out of their hands. They made bad descisions and turn the ball over at crucial moments. Lost in the second round.

In 15, they blew a 3-1 lead. They seemed like the better team than the Rockets. It seems like they totally outclassed them from the start. Constant blow outs, multiple weapons they could attack, great passing and offense. They also had control of the game till Josh Smith went on fire. After that, they fell apart. James Harden didn't even had that good of series either. They just let the role players of the Rockets beat them.

And then they riddle with constant injuries.

And now, they are back in the same song and story again. They are on the verge of blowing a 3-1 lead. This is even worse than before, despite the fact Denver is a really good team. The Clips have the most talent in the league atm, but they look like they still might not get it done. Could they break the curse? It don't look good. The momentum is in the Denver's hands. Their confidence must be high. This looks bad on everyone on the Clips if they choke this.

And with Cp3 and Kawhi, it was tease that they were both by a Lakers. The league veto the trade for cp3 and Kawhi just played games with the Lakers.

It's sad and a bit funny to look at it once they ever make a documentary about it. Assuming if the Clips lose to Denver. What can they do if they lose? Fire Doc Rivers?

I think this is the most underrated playoff shot that I've seen, it never ever gets talked about

Game 5, series tied 2-2, Clippers one stop away from a 3-2 lead heading back to LA, and Bell drills an incredibly difficult 3 to send it to double OT. Considering the Clippers went on to win Game 6, that shot very likely prevented them from reaching the WCF

i think clips still likely win but curse is definitely a thing if they dont. dont think firing doc helps. just reload and maybe make a trade during the offseason. dont know who to keep between morris and harrell

Yeah I think the Clips win game 7, but reload? This was supposed to be the most talented team in the NBA.

okay reload was a bad way of putting it. just maybe one trade or a small free agency signing

Clippers will be fine, Kawhi is still the best player in the L right now and the numbers bear it out. Relax and be at ease there are no worries for Clippers against Jokic and Murray.

Painful time to be reminded of this why did you do this to me? Even the fans didn't believe the shot but we still thought we would win the series.

Clippers will always be #2 no matter what state the Lakers are in.

Missing open dunks, open lay ups, Kawhi having a hoorrible game, Clips made only 1 FG in the 4th with 5 mins remaining? They are curse.

Harrell really isn't very good apart from being a high energy guy.

I'd keep him but play him less minutes. I think depending on the day, they could win the championship. It takes a lot of bad luck and circumstance to lose from 3-1.

They were missing so many shots that they normally make. Wide open lay ups. Wide open dunks.Wide open jumpshots. Denver was giving them all the chances to take the game or make it competitive, but they had the worst quarter I ever seen a NBA team play on the offensive end. They could not make anything, even if the Nuggets weren't guarding them.

Yeah, the Clips defense wasn't a problem imo. It was their offense. And it's not like they didn't get open looks. They did, but they missed everything. When they missed that open dunk, I knew it was over and I knew the curse is real.
