This happened a few times through the decades.
In 06, the Suns went 7 games with the Clips. Similar to the Lakers in the first round. Tho they weren't expected to win the series, they end up losing. Lost in the second round.
When cp3 went to the Clips, teams kind'a some respeck on their name except for Laker fans.
In 14, they went six games with the Thunder. While the thunder showed they were a better team, the Clips had section where they had the game under control and it just slipped out of their hands. They made bad descisions and turn the ball over at crucial moments. Lost in the second round.
In 15, they blew a 3-1 lead. They seemed like the better team than the Rockets. It seems like they totally outclassed them from the start. Constant blow outs, multiple weapons they could attack, great passing and offense. They also had control of the game till Josh Smith went on fire. After that, they fell apart. James Harden didn't even had that good of series either. They just let the role players of the Rockets beat them.
And then they riddle with constant injuries.
And now, they are back in the same song and story again. They are on the verge of blowing a 3-1 lead. This is even worse than before, despite the fact Denver is a really good team. The Clips have the most talent in the league atm, but they look like they still might not get it done. Could they break the curse? It don't look good. The momentum is in the Denver's hands. Their confidence must be high. This looks bad on everyone on the Clips if they choke this.
And with Cp3 and Kawhi, it was tease that they were both by a Lakers. The league veto the trade for cp3 and Kawhi just played games with the Lakers.
It's sad and a bit funny to look at it once they ever make a documentary about it. Assuming if the Clips lose to Denver. What can they do if they lose? Fire Doc Rivers?
