You can definitely make serious money with options, but you can also lose a shitload of money if you don't know what you're doing.
I suggest learning as much as you can before you try it, and practice with paper trading for a while.

You're gonna get ****ed if you've never done them before. A buddy of mine in college made a couple grand out of pure luck his first couple of times doing options. He thought he was Jordan Belfort. He became so overconfident that after a while he'd just buy call options without doing much research on them. Ended up losing pretty much all of the thousands he made initially in a span of a few days.

There’s speculation and there’s gambling.
Financial statements and charts are the fundamentals used to speculate a company and stock.
Options is straight gambling. No skill or even speculating.
If I was to ask an option trader tell me why XYZ will go up or down in a given period? ROFL.
There are only 4 real periods. The end of every quarter because they release financials and perhaps the dates of dividend distribution.
A publicly traded company for the most part are ran by highly skilled CEO’s and a publicly traded company makes money for the most part. To bank on them losing money or their stock tanking is very risky.

Fundamentals in this market? haha
But seriously, if you understand the greeks (black scholes) and value of IV/time decay and can be disciplined (taking profits, cutting losses, no fomo, etc.), its not straight gambling. Far from it actually. And it takes more than speculation btw. Your speculation can be correct but if you're not positioned properly, you can lose on it.
