Leaning back shouldn’t be an option vs such an attack. These people can’t fight. Not that I can fight either(which I learned long ago training with a barely experienced boxer). But still.
If your arms are that long people should have to absorb or duck your swings not just lean out of reach. That said....the same guy supposedly killed a lion once so I can’t totally dismiss his combat training....but I’m still annoyed.
