I mean I like Doc (the person not the coach) and it isnt his fault hes basically being used as a token... but thats definitely why they still have him there. If he were white they would have already been looking for a new voice to get them over the hump. Larry Brown got fired after taking the Pistons to a second finals but failing to win it. White coaches have shorter leashes in this day and age. Doc will get a thousand chances.

It is true, but it is still a garbage excuse. He was coaching the title favorites. His only championship was won by a team newly put together, at least their core. Allen and KG were obviously new as were 5 of their 8 leading scorers.

The Clippers were supposed to win the title this year and failed. Rivers deserves blame as does Kawhi and George for not showing up.

Lou Williams has played 70 playoff games. Reggie Jackson has played 49. Morris 44 games. Beverley 40 games.

How much playoff experience did Rondo have in 08? Big baby? Perkins? House? Allen? Less. A lot less.

Lou on his own has played more playoff games than alot of those Celtic role players. Now to forget that Doc himself is a much more experienced coach in 2020 than he was in 2008.

It's been a long time since I liked Doc as a coach, but he should be allowed to explain what happened. These press conferences are mandatory and he has to try and explain. What do people expect him to do? And he isn't wrong.

Also a fair thing to call out all of the load management. I can understand if Kawhi wants to be smart about his body, but he uses it as an excuse, quite clearly.
