As a Californian I can vouch Newsom is telling a lie. He is taking this opportunity to push his agenda because the wildfire was started by poor forest management. It wasn't till the last 5-10 years we started getting annual fires except for the Santa Ana area where the winds causes the fires but the rest of California is blamed by poor forest management because they leftist here don't want us to do control burns because it will harm the air but when SHTF, like what's going on right now, control burns will never get the air as bad as it is through out the state.

There are a lot of fuel around these forests and they want to preserve these forests and protect the air but when a fire breaks out we are screwed!

There are some stories floating around, which would give the impression that there are more people lighting these fires than what have been caught for it. There's a sheriff from either Oregon or California asking people for help because "there are Antifa motherfkers going around starting fires".
Also pictures online of both molotovs and another simple device as well, both apparently used. The device is just a glass bottle with a piece of paper going from inside and out on grass. The sun going through the bottle lights the paper when the heat gets strong enough.
There's also another video of people starting a big fire, but it's not confirmed to have been from this year.

If all of that is fake, then there's a huge information war going on online about this.

Also, just for the sake of arguing conspiracy theories properly, it's a fallacy to think that a group of people would have to be responsible for all the fires. They happen naturally every year, but it's only considered an issue that someone can be responsible for if there are a lot of them and they get really big. So if someone where to conspire in order to make it a noticeable issue real fast, they'd only have to be responsible for x amount of the fires and not all of them.

From what I’ve read, there is evidence that climate change is a factor in the fires (and this is coming from someone on this board who used to think climate change wouldn’t be an issue until the long term future, so I may have to take a pill in humility already), but we can’t ignore other factors like poor forest management, which is something very important that needs to be addressed. Why does it always have to be one or the other? Likely a number of factors are contributing to what we are seeing.
