Were they best team on paper? Yes on paper they were so looking good. But what happened?

The most important position offensively is point guard, Kawhi scorer but he is no point guard. In San Antonio you have Tony Parker and in Toronto Kyle Lowray, Patrick Beverley is nowhere those two.
The lack of point guard, and great passer on Clippers was very visible. While 5 players can score above 20 ( Lou Will, Harell, Morris, Kawhi, George), no one can set them up.

Then on defensive end, they needed a big that can defend and rim protect. They didn't have it, Zubac was good and definitely needed more minutes.

Both Noah & Reggie Jackson signed to cover these two weakness , did not work out.

Clippers need point guard with high IQ, and defensive big with rim protection.

I am extremely shocked, they lost to the Nuggets. Let alone in that fashion.

They simply gave in to the pressure. Dont forget Jokic said after G6 "all the pressure is on their side" and all the media kept talking about how this was a legacy game for Kawhi, that if he doesnt step up and win he will be seen differently etc. etc.

Also PG is just not good when in tense situations. He forgets how to shoot and even how to make layups.

So both Kawhi and PG were poised to choke and the rest of the team followed suit

The rest of the team choked as well because when your stars are shitting the bed, you know youre about to choke a 3-1 lead in the second round to a team everyone had them either sweeping or gentleman sweeping and you see one of the opposing players playing like he isnt going home anytime soon well this is the result...

Their two stars choked in game 7 and their defense couldn't stop Jokic. Murray also found his groove in games 6 and 7. That pretty much is it. You can blame Doc all day, but it is a players league and the two players the Clippers moved heave and earth to get were garbage when it mattered. You can't blame the supporting cast when your two stars are that bad in the second half.

They just couldn't get done offensively when it mattered.

They have some weakness, but I felt like it was minor given their talent. Maybe doc's rotation set up is something that expose big time. They had so many opportunities to take it. They had so many open looks. They missed dunks, layups, and open jumpers. They just missed shots.

The bottom line is that they couldn't execute. They were solid defensively, except for paint protection in the playoffs. Offensively? They sucked against the Nuggets. Paul George had terrible games. Kawhi had a horrible shooting night at the worst time. Along with a lot of the Clips role players. It was a collective stinker. Harrell played okay offensively, but the matchup did not suit him in the first and second round. Hell, all the matchup they would face with the exception of the a potential finals did not suit him.

But they had big leads in the past three games and blew it all. They had their shot to win. They had open shots. The ball couldn't go in. They have the most talent in the league, but they sucked at the most important time. Kawhi and PG sucked offensively and kept shooting bricks. That's the biggest reason why they lost in game 7.
