View Full Version : Media lied about Clippers/Bucks to legitimize Lebron getting a Kareem-like teammate

to make it seem like lebron had to work for the ring and wasn't handed it

so even though the media normally cares primarily about stars, they tried to convince everyone that journeymen and role players were the difference

Where does it hurt? I can hear sweat trickling down your cheek. The thought of LeBron winning his 4th is slowly becoming reality. Better have that noose ready.

I'm pretty sure I've seen the sports media report that the Lakers acquired Anthony Davis last summer.

I know OP's a troll but I'm still confused by the AD/Kareem comparison. Kareem was the league's best player for a decade + and enjoys consensus top 5 all-time status. AD's undeniably a stud, but I don't think he has even been a top 5 player in the league at any point of his career.

I mean if you’re ranking the best players in the league. AD is easily top 5. Probably top 3. He just finally had a fellow superstar sidekick and teammate. He never had that before. That’s why the Lakers are so significantly better this season.

It is just trollish nonsense to try and delegitimize Lebron.

So LeBron is still the alpha at age 35 with a young Kareem like teammate?

That strengthens his GOAT status

17 seasons of undisputed alpha dominance and unmatched impact

GOAT athlete and its actually not close.

JohnMax

Kareem never won more than 1 playoff series in any year without Oscar/Magic. He did make it to the Conference Finals a couple times, but that was in an era where winning only one playoff round would be enough to reach the Conference Finals. He also missed the playoffs twice in his prime without Oscar or Magic.

AD leads the team in everything..

lebron never won by leading his team in ppg by a lot (carry-job) - he always needed an equal-scoring teammate like AD/Kyrie (shared load, not carry-job), or within 5 points (Wade)

Kawhi/Durant get stuck with career playoff chokers like Lowry/Westbrook/George

LeBron gets excellent career playoff performers like Wade and Anthony Davis.

Do you prefer I compare AD to Duncan, Hakeem or Robinson?.. it makes no difference - AD is on that top-top level of all-time bigs, with the stats and PER to prove it.. and now he'll have the ring too, hopefully as FMVP because he leads the Lakers in everything

ultimately, lebron never won by leading his team in ppg by a lot (carry-job) - he always needed an equal-scoring teammate like AD/Kyrie (shared load, not carry-job), or within 5 points (Wade)

Damn, LeBron must be in the GOAT era where a player who would be a 6x MVP (more than MJ) in past eras is "a guy who once finished 3rd in MVP" (as 1-9ball would put it) in this era.

Yeah, the latter is their best hope and even that wouldn't do much for them. The Washington Post had an article yesterday about LeBron's path to a 4th ring. Davis was mentioned only in passing. FMVP or no FMVP, we know if the Lakers win LeBron will gobble up the credit since "sidekicks" don't get much credit no matter who or the context. That is why they are shook. :oldlol:

AD would have to significantly outplay LeBron to get FMVP IMO. If it’s close LeBron will get it as he is the NBA’s cash cow.

Has nothing to do with being a 'cash cow

The media member vote to decide a winner. Theyre not voting for lebron because he's made the NBA a lot of money. Also, him winning or not winning the award has no bearing on how much money he makes the NBA

I dunno, I mean even if the Kareem comparison held any water, why stop there? Why not call him Kareem with Reggie Millers jumper and Bill Russell's defense on top of Wilts scoring ability? Would that suffice to serve your agenda? Besides that, I thought this era was so clearly inferior that a per from this era wouldn't possibly equal one from Kareem's era anyhow? You are massively confused, or really a ranting and raving lunatic....I pray for you if he actually wins the title in the end.

Think about his contention: that this era is so strong "Kareem" is considered a "sidekick"--and to LeBron of all people.

On the flip side, he says in the 90's an Iggy-level player would be a MVP candidate and make multiple all-NBA first teams.

The logical conclusions of his (and those of other MJ stans who echo him) claims is this era is awesome and the 90's were incredibly weak...

If you watched the regular season, LeBron was the clear cut best player, AD would sometimes disappear in the 4th. Just look at the plus-minus stats to see which player is more important to this team.

If you look at their postseason stats they are pretty similar throughout the board, except LeBron has a clear advantage in the assists department.

Ad is still doing more defensively but playmaking gives bron an edge imo
