Faster, more athletic. Guards and Forwards today are so much better then they were in the 90s and ESPECIALLY the 80s.

80s and 90s (even the championship teams) were only 5-6 deep of players who could actually play in todays game.

The 96 BULLS team who won 72 games, couldn't score enough points to keep up with any good team in todays NBA. Jordan, Kukoc and Pippen are the only people who on a good night could give you over 20 points.

80s Celtics athleticism is misery in today's NBA, same thing with the Lakers. Larry Bird would be nothing more then a spot up shooter in todays NBA. Magic Johnson would be a big PG who could back people down in the post, but not the lateral quickness to beat anybody off the dribble or keep up with anybody.

If Jamal Murry was in the NBA in 1988, he'd beat the 2nd best player in the NBA after Jordan.

This narrative would make sense only if the nuggets would be able to wipe off the lakers in the wcf, which we all know is unlikely to happen.

Can the 2020 Nuggets beat the 80s Nuggets with English, Issel, David Thompson, Kiki and Fat Lever?

Faster, more athletic.

Average height of NBA Players in the 90's and 10's

1990-2000

Average: roughly 6'6.8"

2010-2018

Average: roughly 6'7"

Average weight

1990-2000

Average: roughly 208-214 lbs

2010-2018

Average: roughly 220 lbs

Not much of a difference.

Guards and Forwards today are so much better then they were in the 90s and ESPECIALLY the 80s. Arguable.

The 96 BULLS team who won 72 games, couldn't score enough points to keep up with any good team in todays NBA. You have to take into account, the pace/speed of the game.

1990-2000 (Average pace): 103.2

2010-2020 (Average pace): 104.6

Also you have to take into account (more importantly) the rule changes.

Jordan, Kukoc and Pippen are the only people who on a good night could give you over 20 points. Barkley was a consistent 20+ PPG scorer in his prime. Drexler scored 20+ points in many seasons too. Ewing was consistent scoring 20+ points multiple seasons too. The only reason why players back then didn't score more wasn't because they were fragile or weak but the game simply didn't allow you score easily back then.

The 96 BULLS team who won 72 games, couldn't score enough points to keep up with any good team in todays NBA. Take the 96' Celtics for example.

The 96 Celtics were the highest pace team at 96.2 in 1996. The highest pace team in 2020 is the 20' Bucks at 105.1. The 96' Celtics would rank 29th in terms of pace in 2020 season. So basically last.

The game is a little bit different when comparing the 90s to 2020.

OP crawls out of a hole every couple of weeks to start a batshit thread then disappears. He might not even post again in this same thread. Hilarious stuff. I'm a huge fan.
