LeBron - 10 conference championships + 4 NBA championships = 14 total championships

MJ - 6 conference championships + 6 NBA championships = 12 total championships

LeBron already also has more total playoff wins :applause:

Come on, lets be honest. Lebron has already lost the chance to surpass MJ ever since he got swept by Spurs in 2007. MJ has a perfect 100% winning percentage in the Finals, going 6/6 in dominant fashion without ever needing a game 7. In order to surpass MJ, an undefeated Finals record is a necessary condition(but not sufficient). If a player loses once in the Finals series, hes automatically disqualified from GOAT discussion.

If a guy comes along dominates on both ends. RS and POs and wins 7/11 finals he's > MJ.

Look at football. Brady is "6-3' and Montana "4-0" yet most have Brady as GOAT.

The "6-0" thing is a MJ rubric. The argument for LeBron will be longevity, portability (e.g., he had success in many different situations), cumulative achievements (stats but also if he wins up with 5 rings and 12 finals the argument will be made that the sheer weight of that matters, even if "only" 5 rings), and of course the era card (which ironically MJ fans are playing into).

LeBron won't win under the MJ rubric, just as Montana wouldn't win under that. To win the debate LeBron's advocates have to change the prism for assessing GOAT.

6-0, "zero Game 7's" is a shaky thing to hang your hat on because it implies (relatively) weak comp. I don't get the MJ fan obsession with team achievements. He is better than LeBron because he simply is the better overall player and has no major weakness. Why not say that instead of "6 rangz"?

The argument for LeBron will be portability (e.g., he had success in many different situations)

This is a new category that no one really cared about before Lebron made team hopping a normal thing. So we penalize guys Bird, Magic, Jordan, Duncan, Kobe, etc. for not looking to leave (at least as often) and achieve this "portability" achievement and instead helped build a long-term culture and chemistry with one franchise, which enabled them more success?

So if Lebron played greater which won him more championships and in more dominating fashion, he's not considered a greater player? We can chalk it up to weaker competition even though there is no change in his competition here?

:whatever:

Weak competition was what LeBron had for 8 straight years... only reason why he got to the finals that many times.

Lebron lost his chance when they had to stage a win over GOLDENSTATE in 2016. Curry doesn’t throw that horrible behind the back pass if the league doesn’t tell him too

it's actually 12 = 12 (lebron hasn't beaten denver or boston yet)

except mj's QUALITY is superior, aka 3 more Finals wins > 3 more conference finals wins
