When push comes to shove and the clock ticks down, the vast majority of NBA players become porters, sherpas, photographers, wallpaper, background actors and the limelight is left for the very few who:

A: Have the balls to step up in the clutch.

B: Have the skill to execute in the clutch.

I would say in any given season, 10-15 players develop this ability, maybe sometimes less.

Jamal Murray is not only one of these elite few, he may actually be one of the best at it.

What is 'it'

Getting it done when the defense is cranked up, when the pressure is cranked up and when it really matters. A majority Wilt, but a select few Russell.

You need these guys to win championships, and they need to be able to create and score all over the floor.

Jamal has been clutch most of his career, late game threes, clutch plays, they seemed to have come naturally.

"oh but he is inconsistent." they shout, conveniently ignoring that all players have off nights.

Jamal murdered the Jazz a team with stellar team defense, a couple perimeter stoppers and the best rim protection in the league.

"lucky, wait till Kawhi, Bev, PG and co. get a hold of him, then we will see the REAL Jamal Murray"

Deviation back to the norm said the talking heads, the prognosticators and the bball 'savants.'

But what happened?

Murray turned the vaunted Klaw, and Playoff p (lower case intentional) into background actors and supporting characters, foils for his 40 point game 7 come from behind explosion. diced them up like a slap chop on a hapless potato.

HERE IS THE DEAL.

Nuggets are going to give the Lakers fits.

What we are seeing, before our eyes is the realization that Jamal Murray is an NBA superstar
