Marcus Smart yelling at teammates and throwing items around after today's lost

that was fast reporting!

Marcus Smart known for having a breakout season, first on his face then on the courts then on his teammates

The Celtics lack veteran leadership. Should’ve kept Horford and added Jimmy when they had the chance.

Dunno why it's a big deal.

Nothing wrong with an ol school fit of rage in the locker room after a loss.

Screaming and yelling to vent out frustration is okay. Don't start punching white boards or fire alarms then hurt himself and his team.

Could've spent some of that energy on not having a 14 point on 5-13 shooting game though.

Just because someone had a bad game doesn’t mean he can’t call out others. He’s obviously frustrated at himself and his team. They need something to wake them up and get fired up. It’s do or die for them right now. It would be far worse for Smart after a shitty game to go sulk in the corner and say “ok let’s get them next time guys”.

Looks like it wasn't Kyrie Irving's fault after all. This team is still soft and still sucks, they only made the ECF because they played the craptors.

Umm are you being dumb or what? Remember, they still have hayward under their arsenal, kid. Not assuring he will do any wonders for them but hopefully yes.

They still have to lose 2 more times in order to get sent home. It may not happen. We'll see.

That doesn’t sound good but Tatum needs to shoot more and be more aggressive. If he isn’t pushing it he shouldn’t call out others for taking the shots. Someone has to.

He shouldn't though. Tatum right now is a high volume, low efficiency sucker.

Derka

Tatum didn't just shoot poorly; he barely shot at all. The dude wants to be The Man and he's taking TWELVE SHOTS...against a zone defense...in the Eastern Conference Finals. He spent huge portions of the game standing out at the three point line waiting for someone to kick him the ball. F*ck is that shit? How the hell is Smart taking more shots?

Smart may take bonehead 3's early in the shot clock with frequency, but he's the one guy right now who doesn't seem to be AFRAID to take shots. And knowing him, he believes that Tatum is the guy whose role on the team should be non-stop attacking and finally felt like getting up his ass is a mechanism for getting him to realize that.

Gohan

Y’all must want Tatum taking horrible shots. Watch the damn defense they were playing on him

I think his volume is right where it should be. 20~ shots. The thing with him is his selection. He'll dribble dribble dribble, then settle for a stepback 2. :facepalm He has the ability to get to the rim and at least draw a foul. Could you imagine a game where he was aggressive (or the other guys at that) and was able to get Bam in foul trouble early? That opens up so much more for the rest of the guys.

Derka
09-18-2020, 12:15 PM
They weren't playing defense on him; they were playing a 3-2 zone with Crowder anchoring the middle and doubling whoever got the ball at the wings. Guys have to move without the ball against that. The open shots against that defense are on the baseline and mid-range at the key and extended elbows but every possession you'd see three Celtics spread out around the three-point line waiting for Theis or Kanter to screen for the ballhandler for a drive-and-kick three-pointer because that's apparently the only offense anyone in the NBA knows how to run anymore.

I'd take Smart on my team any day.

He's the glue of that team. They're not in the ECF without his play.

Celtics need to learn how to

1. Pick up the pace and use their age/speed as an asset
2. Learn how to move without the ball -- watch warrior tapes
3. Learn how to cut -- break the zone defense

Gudo

Amazing how the heat committs fully on the defense. The help defense, double and recovery are very quick. Best example is the block by bam in game 1. Just full awareness by everyone. As for the celtics, I dont see them as being fully synced on offense to break down the zone. They just pass the ball on the outside, stand around and hope an good shots up.

Exactly. The zone defense isn't going to beat itself. Jacking 3's and ISO isn't going to get the job done. In addition to Warriors, watch European basketball. Zone defense and teams playing 'team basketball' to beat the zone.

Look at these internet warriors :oldlol:

Obviously you guys haven't been a part of a competitive basketball team or haven't' played a basketball game your entire life

Shouting and venting out at your teammates because you're frustrated and wants to win is effin normal.

You need to worry more if one of your core player just sit out there, stare at the ceiling and do nothing after an embarrassing loss.

Draymond do it, KG do it, Kobe do it, Jimmy Butler do it and etc.

It's just mainstream sports media hyping it up. :oldlol:
