How many were 'hit or lose' and how many were 'hit or go to OT?'

What was the score, and how many seconds were there left on the clock when Kyrie "saved LeBron's legacy" by hitting that 3 against Golden State?

Lol there was literally 53 seconds left in a tie game. Certainly a big shot, but hardly more legacy saving than Kerr's shot, Paxon's shot and all the many big shots hit by Kobe's teammates from Fisher to Horry to Artest. Artest saved Kobe's legacy far more in 2010 when he made a game winner after Kobe airballed against the Suns and then hit the dagger in game 7 of the Finals against Boston.

A clutch shot by another player in a non-elimination game is hardly “legacy-saving” especially when the game was tied and the likely alternative scenario is OT as was the case with the Kerr shot.

The Paxon and Kerr shots were absolutely massive regardless of whether they were elimination games. They literally closed out the finals. if that isn't big to you, sorry. Lakers don't win the Finals in 2010 with the Artest shot. They might not even get there if he didn't hit the buzzer beater after Kobe's airball against the Suns. Horry's shot against the Kings was absolutely a legacy shot despite it not being a game 7.

Yeah Kyrie hit a big shot. It is a team game. If you are going to win a championship, players beyond the star have to step up and make big plays. You can't name me a star player who made all the big plays for his team on a championship because that player doesn't exist.

Saying they were big shots and saying they were “legacy saving” are two totally different things. If the Paxson doesn’t go in, there’s game 7. If the Kerr shot doesn’t go in, there’s OT, and if that doesn’t work out, still a game 7 at home.

I wouldn’t really call either the Artest or Kyrie shots “legacy saving” given how much time was left but given they were game 7s and all the teams were having trouble shooting in those games and/or that point in the game, there’s much more reason to call those legacy saving then the Jordan games mentioned. The Ray Allen shot though was clearly legacy saving.

Fair enough. "Legacy saving" was overkill.

My point is all stars have had other players hit big shots and make big plays on their championship runs. And stars that failed to win titles would have killed for big shots by others. You think Karl Malone doesn't wish Byron Russell and Jeff Hornacek actually were 3 point threats in the 98 finals instead of going 9-30 from deep?
