How come he never took his Pelican's teams as far as the Lakers currently are? His supporting casts were more talent then this Lakers team (sans LeBron)

The Lakers roster aside from AD and LeBron is pretty much full of cast offs that no one wanted.

Everyone used to call him empty stats until this year.

What changed?

LeBron had a severe injury and tried playing through it.

Just because a team is talented doesn't mean they win. They have to fit together, be on the same page, have some leadership, etc. I mean look at the Timberwolves for example when they had Jimmy Buckets... I bet if you put Towns into a better situation than Minnesota he'd be in a similar situation as AD...at least competing in the playoffs.

Towns/Dieng
Gibson/Saric
Butler/Convington
Wiggins
Teague/Rose/Bayless/Tyus Jones

Injuries ruined the Pelicans (also being in the West).

Not only did AD get injured pretty often, but so did his best teammates.

In his 13 playoff games before this year, AD was putting up 30/13 on 59.3 TS%, 26.7 PER. So yeah he was always really good.

Wasn't the same team honestly. They traded a ton of talent for AD. Talent that wasn't built around LeBron. I'm sure if you took LeBron out of the equation and had only AD it would be Pelicans 2.0 and empty stats again. It's because they're together. Duh.

How far did Lebron take this Laker team withiut AD? Hmmm

2018 Lakers

35-47
23rd ranked offense
12th ranked defense
21st in SRS (-1.44)

2019 Lakers

37-45
24th ranked offense
12th ranked defense
23rd in SRS (-1.33)

anyone knows? Why were the 2018 Lakers and 2019 Lakers basically the same team? Were there any additions? :confusedshrug:

They were the 3rd seed until Butler got injured.

As for KAT...Yes I agree! People don't realize how good he really is. His offensive game is just as good if not better then AD.

The problem with bigs, no matter how good they are, is that in order to win in the league you need an elite/superstar wing. It's that simple. If your wings suck then it doesn't matter how good your big men are.

Edit: Nuggets are a prime example of this. Jokic is doing his usual thing but it wouldn't have been enough without Murray going super saiyan

I think the last team to win without a superstar wing would've been Dallas I think? Everything else since then is Warriors, Cavs, Raptors, Spurs...

If A.D. was out East he would have made 8 straight finals.

Your problem is not just that you are an obsessive idiotic hater, it is also that you are the definition of a casual fan who doesn't watch the games. You would think someone who has no job, has never been on a date and wastes his life away on a basketball message board like you do, you would actually be able to flilp on the tv. Lebron had the Lakers as the 4 seed last year before his injury. He missed 27 games and played a whole bunch of other games injured.

This is up there with you saying a player who has more game winning playoff shots than Jordan or Kobe "someone who never comes through when it matters." If you are going to waste your life hating someone, maybe at least watch the games from time to time. With that many posts on a message board, it is safe to say you don't exactly have a life to take you away from it.

it'd be like the players are keeping the profit margin of the league down, and if the owners don't bite, eventually players will jump to Jordan's team and help him win
