View Full Version : Clippers teammates do not want to stick around for another run

In the postgame locker room Tuesday night, George was preaching to teammates to remain committed, for all the players to return to the team this offseason and stay ready to make another run. It was met by some eye rolls and bewilderment, sources said, because George did not back up his words with action in the series and the team has multiple free agents with decisions to make. George scored 10 points on 4 of 16 shooting and 2 of 11 from 3-point range in the Game 7 defeat.

I like that attitude with George when he's talking to Kawhi. The bench not so much.

Any useful FA should be coming to the Warriors, minimum pay only.

HBK_ Klit_2, can your boy galvanize the troops? You were supposed to stop posting a week ago but since you haven't, perhaps you can entertain us all with another series of excuses.

Some leadership from Kawhi. First of all, George, who is not the leader, has to fire up the troops, saying to give it another chance. Second of all, it is met by collective sighs and moans. That locker room is cancerous, and I can't help but think it has a lot to do with load management.

Prophet Richard Jefferson predicted this would happen at the 8.52 mark.

There were reports of anti 'load management' sentiment early on in the season. And that's the issue, how you gonna lead trench workers like Harrell and Beverley as load managing mega-buck divas, fail to deliver a title, then expect guys who had to fight and claw their way into the league to have your back? This is why being the best player on a team with any title aspirations carries the added burden of being a galvanizer of the troops. Kawhi is not a leader, neither is George. The Raptors probably wouldn't have won last year ( injuries to the Warriors aside) if someone like Lowry wasn't on the team.

While this is indeed hilarious, if we can be cereal for a moment, they'd be stupid not to run it back again with this crew. They have the talent. Maybe another year to gel will make a difference.

They dont want to be led by Houdini-P and Kawhiding again. They need a real leader.
I don't know how this affects george's trade value

Good. The role players can go rot in trash franchises like the Hornets

100% agree. Maybe at the heat of the moment his teammates told PG to get lost, but I think they would make a mistake in not giving it another go next year. They have too good a roster to let the chance pass by. However, I would bring in another coach instead of Doc to run the team.

This is damning of PG:

You mean the guy who did a reality show about resigning with OKC and being loyal to them only to demand a trade a year later isn't the answer for a stable franchise? You don't say.

Yep. No doubting how good Kawhi is (not very clutch though) but he is the farthest thing from a leader.

Is obvious now that this team never really liked each other.
