Marvin Bagleys grandma at least. Joe is his grandfather after all...

And who can blame her? Women couldn’t have been prepared for such aggressive drives 50 years ago:

I suspect the women are the true reason he was banned and blacklisted. They said it was “activities detrimental to the best interests of professional basketball” and he fought it all the way to the Supreme Court...but he never played again.

Supposedly he was somehow involved in his insane teammate doing a walkout but personally I believe it was all the moisture left in the seats after games. The teammate in question once refused to fly from eastern to central time because the flight landed before it took off clock wise and he considered it time travel.

That’s the kinda person to ban an all star teammate for life over?

Anyway....that’s just some random 2am nonsense for you to absorb.

There are a few guys you watch who make you run it back like “That didn’t look right....” in that era but it’s mostly just us not having a lot of footage. There are like 10 of those guys half of them nicknamed “Jumpin”. Jumpin Johnny Green who never played basketball till he was 20 then played in the nba till he was 40 after being a 26 year old rookie. Jumpin Jackie Jackson who is the origin of the quarter off the backboard legend(true or not).

Some you see and they look pulled right outta modern highlights.....but the people watching them don’t seem to care. You never like see the crowd explode. Nobody seemed that impressed by feats of athleticism back then.
